Here's what 49ers interim coach Mike Singletary had to say during the Q&A after the 49ers' 29-24 loss to the Cardinals in Glendale, Ariz.:

Q: Can you talk about the sequence at the end of the game, the play call, why Michael Robinson from the 2 ½ yard line on the final play of the game?

Singletary: You know what, I really don't know. I think Coach Martz felt that there would be a cavity inside, so he made that call.

Q: Could you have handled the final seconds better?

Singletary: I do. I think we could've done a heck of a lot better job. I talked to the referee on a couple of those. For whatever reason, we weren't quite set. It looked like Shaun (Hill) was taking all day, but we had to get guys aligned right or it's a penalty. So we had to wait on the guys to come before he could spike it.

Q: That was the confusing part. (Jason) Hill catches the ball to the 1-yard line with 40 seconds left and you don't get another play off until there's 20 seconds left. What happened?

Singletary: The only thing I can say about that particular time is you have guys that were trying to get back to the line of scrimmage. Shaun was trying to get the call in time, and trying to get everything settled. We lost about 10-12 seconds at that time, which was ridiculous, but it happened.

Q: Mike, what are the emotions you're feeling right now? You played a lot better than two weeks ago against the team that's leading the division. But then what happens at the end of the game. How do you grasp what happened out there?

Singletary: I'll tell you exactly how. I came in and just basically told the team what it is. We're that team right now that got ourselves up and ready to go. We have a vision that we believe in, thoroughly. But that vision is not yet carried through. The first one is ball control. We did not do that. I got to give them (Arizona) credit. They did a good job and played well. But our vision, we have to stay true to the vision in order for us to be successful. We did not. For us, in a nutshell, we played together. We played as a team. We came here to win. But in the end, we just did not finish. It's that simple: We did not finish. And you have to finish, and we did not.

Q: Were you happy with the intensity and the mindset you saw throughout the game?

Singletary: How do I say this? I can't say 'happy' because I didn't expect anything different. It's not like we go out there and go, 'Wow, you guys are playing hard.' If we don't get that, I might as well go home. I'd just say that we got to grow up. If we want to be a great team, we have to finish. We have the other part coming. The guys are playing hard and they are focused. But that's not good enough. They know that; I know that. It just tears your heart out. So in these next seven weeks, we got to refocus, come back , , , you think it took character for this week - this is exactly what I told them - it's going to take character for this week coming up. We got to go get it done. It's as simple as that. It's very frustrating and very difficult to put into words everything I feel. I'm being very calm, OK? - to say the least.

Q: Could this game be so demoralizing that you have a carryover? Or is that your job to make sure it doesn't do that?

Singletary: That's my job. There will be no carryover. Carryover to what? We'll be fine. We got a great group of guys in there who want to win. But we just got to learn how to win. That's it.

Q: How did you feel about how Vernon (Davis) handled himself after the touchdown?

Singletary: I just told him, 'Great catch, let's remember to be smart.' And that was it.

Q: How do you characterize the penalties. There were a lot of penalties where the refs changed their minds?

Singletary: I can't even begin to go there because I have to look at it myself. It was happening so fast and there were so many things going on, so I don't want to go to the officiating side of it and say anything because I have to look at it and sit down and analyze it. There's too much going on. It felt like it got crazy and got out of hand at the end of the game, at the most critical time of the game. That's when it got sloppy. That's all I can say about that.

Q: With Shaun Hill, the run he had with his helmet off, the touchdowns he had, but the turnovers in the second half. How do you sort out what kind of performance you got out of your quarterback?

Singletary: Shaun wants it. He's trying to make something happen. He goes back and we're driving down the field and thought he saw a guy open and tries to throw the ball underneath. If he gets it to the guy, 'Hey, great play, he makes something happen' and you love the guy. But it didn't happen that way, so it's 'What a dumb idiotic thing to do at such a critical time.' Shaun is a blue-collar guy. I love Shaun. I think Shaun was trying to do everything he possibly could to do it the right way. So, it's a shame that it ended the way it did. I have no apologies. All I'm going to say is the same thing I told them: My heart is torn out because we lost, obviously. But it also tells me something else: We just have to learn how to finish football games. All the other stuff is right there. All the other stuff is right there. But we cannot do the things - giving the ball away - we cannot do it and give us a chance to win.

Sorry Singletary, but I still request a local blackout. It's nothing against you, but I'm tired. The season is a wash. Just play for drafts, maybe we can sucker it off and get additional picks. There's not a lot of good teams left to beat/be motivated.

Matt, I wish you didn't have to talk to 49ers coaching. They just don't give the right answers and you dont' ask the right questions.

Stop with the local blackout talk. It's getting really old. A local blackout does nothing but get the team moved to LA. I pay for Sunday NFL ticket just to see the 9ers since I live in a different market. If you're so passionate about seeing "better" games then pony up the dough and pay for the package or go to a sports bar.

Matt, can you ban someone just for being annoying. If so, let me know and I'll send you a list of people to exile. My name may or may not be on the list... but Darren's will be #2 right behind the most annoying of all. Any guesses who that will be?

one word = DISGUSTED........WHY DOES GORE KEEPING RUNNING SO LOW TO THE GROUND?....MARTZ IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!LOVE HIM-HATE HIM ITS HARD TO DO JUST ONE ......AT least we now have wide recivers for the future, now all we need is A.Smith to return next yr and we will be good.

I'm on the same page in terms of all these calls for a local blackout. Anyways, do people really think that if they stop going to games the team will magically go undefeated for the rest of eternity? If you can't stomach a losing stretch you don't deserve the 49ers.

Will you stop whining about wanting local blackouts? If you're so damn concerned about not watching better games, pony up the freaking cash and buy direct ticket. Knock it off.

Matt, "Darren" was one of the reasons you went to the sign in system on your blog. He regularly trolls KNBR, and from what I understand he's basically been banned from having his calls taken on the air. Isn't it time you stop posting his troll posts? They serve no purpose.

Hey Darren please stop watching the Niners u r not a fan. There is not one fan on here that would rather see the Cowboys on in SF than the 49ers. Please go back to Raider chat.

Whomever said Gore runs too low to the ground has never played football in their entire lives. Every running back is taught from the time they play PeeWee football to run low to the ground. Gore is a great rb BECAUSE he keeps a very low center of gravity which allows him to run with balance and power. The problem he had when he didn't score was not because he was too low to the ground. His problem on that run was that he did not keep his feet under his body. His shoulders got too far out in front of his feet and he couldn't keep his balance. Gore is not the problem on this team. In fact, he's undoubtedly the best player on the roster.

Matt,
There seemed to be friction between Singletary and Martz on the sideline a few times during the game. Singletary and Martz appeared to have heated exchanges and Singletary walked away from Martz looking disgusted. Do you know what that was all about?

Matt- This season, and this game, calls for a discussion about interceptions. Can you help us quantify what we see? How many interceptions do the Niners have vs all other teams? Seems like we would be at the bottom. And how many have we given up vs other teams? The most? And in Niner games, just interceptions, what is our net number. Like -20 or so? As others have suggested, is the issue on both offense and defense?

Matt,

For me, two things stand out in this game. First of all, Shawn Hill played a solid game. I was impressed when he picked up a first down after having his helmet knocked off. To me, that showed what Hill is all about and that he fits into Singletary's mentality and style of play.

Secondly, Singletary totally threw Mike Martz under the bus in his post game press conference. As a head coach, Singletary needs to take joint responsibility for play calls. If he didn't like that call, Singletary should have overruled him like he did earlier in the game.

The Niners could have won this one, but on the last drive, it looked like the offense needed a nap and wanted to go home with their blankies. How do you not hustle to the line of scrimmage with under a minute to go? Come on, it was a simple kill the clock play and the offense managed to screw that up.

Have a safe trip home. I am sure the woman taking care of your children will be happy to give them back. :-)

You guys that want local blackouts - there's a ready-made solution for you. Become Raiders fans.

Coach Ditka said after his ESPN interview of Singletary that fans shouldn't expect wins right away. That's because he has to change the culture...I only saw the PrimeTime highlights of the game, but from what I did see, the team played with passion and heart. That's a sign things are heading in the right direction. Yes, we still have to control/eliminate the turnovers. But, it was obvious to me that the team played to win. That's enough for me to have hope...I also like that Singletary's playing the younger guys...Jason Hill, Zeigler, Morgan, Rachal, etc. These guys can play...they just needed the chance to show it. This game was something to build on...

Matt, would it be possible to create a special file on the blog for inane rants? You could call it 'Inane Rants', put up a link and direct all the crap from the aforementioned contributors and anyone of their ilk into it (it could be that some of my stuff would qualify). Then if anyone wants a good laugh or a dose of stupidity, we could go to where it's centralized. The rest could commiserate on the 9ers and not have to wade through the ridiculous ravings of the lunatic fringe to have a relevant exchange. Just a thought. Also, I'm with Houston 9er on the Singletary/Martz friction. There was the obvious disagreement on the field goal/go for it on 4th down, and then the last minute fubar/snafu orchestrated by Martz. I think the players showed up and have bought in to Singletary's message and leadership. It appears Martz hasn't.

Bad teams find ways to lose winnable games.

We have a somewhat better HC, a somewhat better QB, and somewhat better effort all around... BUT WE ARE STILL A LOSING TEAM.

S.Hill played *mostly* a decent game, but the brain fart shovel pass to Adrian Wilson was a thing of pure horror.

Martz seems AFAIK to have been responsible for ordering S.Hill to spike the ball at the 2, then sending in a substitution package so that it took 30 seconds to get lined up and set, and then to spike. HORRIBLE coaching mistake. It took at least one potential down away from us at the end.

I actually can agree with the run by Gore to the outside. Okeafor barely got a hand on Frank, certainly wouldn't have tackled him with that 99% of the time. But Gore was already stumbling and off balance and basically went down on his own.

Last play to Robinson was ludicrous. We have NEVER gotten short yardage running in the McNolan era. There was no reason to go up the middle. If you're going to run, go wildcat with the direct snap and let Robinson run the option: run it in, throw the pass, or pitch it to Gore. With AZ stacked at the line in the middle it would have been better to go for the edge. Better yet just have Shaun Hill roll out and either take it in himself or toss it to Jason Hill who was on fire on that drive.

Good things? Jason Hill can play WR. Too bad Nolan kept him on the bench for two years.

Chilo Rachal has a future at RG.

Morgan is still looking for his breakout. Good talent but poor consistency. At least he has talent.

Zeigler can play WR in this league too.

Defensive intensity was better.

Good special teams play as usual.

Bad things:

No forced turnovers, and we made 3 of our own.

O-line was a little better, no sacks, some nice blocks, but still soft in the middle when it counted.

VD is VD. Nice TD catch, then makes a stupid penalty. Then totally punks out on a catchable ball that should have been the winning TD with 8 minutes left. WEAK.

Coaching showed more intensity. Martz called 59 minutes of a good game then basically screwed the pooch in the last 50 seconds. But if you can't trust him in crunch time, you can't trust him. Tom Rathamn for 2009 OC!

Still no pass rush... which exposed:

Walt Harris can't cover any more. Boldin had him for lunch all night.

Coverage was too soft on the last Cardinals' drive. Probably the coaches don't trust Harris to press the WRs any more.

All in all, about what I expected... better effort, sabotaged by a continuing lack of talent at some positions and a coaching staff which has its own problems.

Nothing I see here makes me think its going to get much better than 4-12.

GORE is DEFINATELY NOT THE PROBLEM.... the issue is he runs low almost the time....sure a RB should run low between tackles but to break away he needs to raise his body a little more....I think he his just trying to avoid hits.

Wow. This could be a good finish. The Niners need 42 yards and have 66 seconds..........

Jason Hill? Who in the hell is Jason Hill?.........

Jason Freaking Hill.......

Shaun Hill was lining up the offense like a carpenter using a level......

Two yards, and 20 seconds left......

Good call on the whole down by contact thing........

At a time when plenty of folks think that the NFL has transformed into touch football, it apparently has.......

Tony, STFU about feeling awkward for calling this one three minutes ago......

What.. A...Stupid... Freaking...Call...

Stupid....Stupid.....Stupid.....

Is Mike Martz the offensive coordinator, or is it Woody Hayes?......

But at least Mike Singletary still has his strut......

Despite the inane remarks and ridiculous idea of a TV blackout, this game was exciting up to the last play. There was a palpable passion with the players and with the coaching staff, their disagreement on strategy notwithstanding. Had the final play resulted in a touchdown with no time remaining I suspect the comments would be praising pass happy Coach Martz' brilliance in calling a play no one in the universe expected. Based solely on this game, it appears the team is in positive transition. Too bad it's halfway through the season.

You people that whine about me are like those that whine about prop 8 and voted for Obama and the train going to nowhere. Get your facts straight:

I have a 50 dollar phone bill from 5 calls to KNBR, including one where I was on hold for 99 minutes, the night that Singletary took over as coach so henceforth since KNBR is too cheap to go toll free, all calls to KNBR have been ceased.

I have a job where I work on Sundays now so henceforth, no 49ers games unless I tape it. The way we play, why bother?

I have a right called an OPINION. It's not being RACIST. It's not being a WHINER. It's called an OPINION, it's like that of your TV, you don't like it, TURN THAT LITTLE KNOB CALLED OFF! See how easy it is? Then, when you see what I have to say and if you don't like it, how about NOT RESPONDING or NOT READING? See how sensible that is?

Here's what local blackout gets you:

You get that big game at 1pm PST called the one where 95% of the nation gets to see that is MORE BETTER nad MORE ENTERTAINING and has BETTER COMMENTARY then you ROn Pitts, JC Pearson, Randy Cross, or some other sucking commentary.

You get more enjoyable, as I am sure the ones that did not go to the Raiders game, got that enjoyable 1pm game in the comforts of their own home. So, no matter what or how you may feel, local blackout does not mean you don't get that game on TV. It means you get a BETTER GAME that 5% of the Bay Area are always denied to. There's radio, listen to the game on RADIO! HELLO, people, get with the times!

MEdford, stop being a 49ers fan. No 49ers fan talks to their own kind like that. Thank you.

Amen Oldtimefan.

As for Darren, are you looking for "right" questions from Matt like "What was going through your mind then?" or how about "What did you say to your team at the end of the game?" I think Susan Kolber's style would be your cup of tea. Go check out her blog and send us a postcard.

I definitely have to put that last series 100% on Martz. NFL Network analysts were putting it on lack of execution because the team didn't look 'ready' for it. I can understand that, they probably didn't think they'd be in that situation and didn't practice it. I give Singletary a pass on this one because he's still green. This is just like a new QB... at certain times during the game, things will be going pretty fast in his mind. I personally have no doubt that he'll be able to get that 'game speed'.

Martz, however... he's been in this situation NUMEROUS times in his career. He looked lost and with his background, there is NO excuse for that.

Franchise, there is something really bad on TV right now. Why don't you try watching it?

Darren - "I have a job where I work on Sundays now so henceforth, no 49ers games unless I tape it. The way we play, why bother?" -- Um... if you can't watch anything, anyway, why the hell do you care if it's a blackout? Again, I'm in Denver, so a blackout wouldn't affect me one bit. With the positive upturn, however, I'd hope that Niner fans that have the option of supporting their team would do so.

Excellent point and well said.

Matt,

I'm curious to know Sing's reaction to the comments from Vernon Davis after the game. Davis again said he did nothing wrong even though he drew a 15 yard penalty for taking his helmet off. The guy lacks accountability. The penalty didn't matter in this game but if the 9ers ever play a meaningful game again Davis could really hurt the team with his stupidity. Is Coach Singletary going to address this issue with VD once again?

Matt, I'm sorry for my immature comments last night. I was drinking and acted stupid. That being said, I thought they played a lot better then I expected. I thought the niners were headed for a blowout. I think they are slowly taking on the personality of their head coach. That keeps me excited. If they continue to play with plenty of intensity, and the remaining games stay close, can Singletary stay on as our coach even if they don't win a lot of games? As a fan I'm happy with the performance.

I think it was a better execution on both sides of the ball than past games this season. If Gore had he been playing on the opposite favorite team or lets say any favored team in the NFL that would have been a touchdown. Any person could see that the touch on the back was not the cause of the stumble and still made several steps before tripping over his own feet. I can't wait for the refs to say today that they made a mistake and it should of been a touchdown.

I thought I finally see a game that is worth to watch... why all these black outs comment try to flood the blog. Everyone has choices, you can watch the game and be a big fan of the 49ers - be supportive. Or, you can turn it off or watch something else. Any 49ers fan would cheer their team especially with the effort that was put in last night. Look at coach press conference, he has so much heart that I have not seen from a 49ers coach since many many years. Coach Singletary is going to be a fine coach, he is at the learning curve and he is trying to right the ship. Let's give this team a chance and a Big Support!

Here are my two cents – bottom line is that we lost and that was a painful way to loose.

Positives:
Jason Hill and Josh Morgan look like starters
Zero Sacks allowed
D played well at times
Less mental mistakes
We were aggressive
Vernon Davis showed good hands
Special Teams/Allen Rossum
Chilo/Kentwan/Siegler sightings

Negatives:
Play calling at the end of the game
Horrible clock managment
1 sack on old man Warner
Walt Harris continues to be just a step behind the receiver
AZ seemed to know our snap count on a number of plays including the Hill/Baas fumble
Poor Tackling
Hill had two bad and costly late game picks

"on hold for 99 minutes" - DUDE YOU NEED A LIFE....And you are against Obama because he made a better life for himself instead of whinning and blaming the minorities like you.

Matt,

Was J. Hill hurt? Everytime he caught the ball he came back to the huddle wincing.
Nice to see the young WRs contribute.

What was up with the 9ers inability to stop the pressure right up the middle? Does Hill ever change the snap count?

Anybody else pissed that there wasn't a face mask call on the last play? You're not supposed to be able to rip the ball carrier's helmet off...... The strangest officiating I've seen since a PAC-10 game.
Definitely not why we lost, but still...

Thanks for the great coverage.

"AZ seemed to know our snap count on a number of plays including the Hill/Baas fumble" -- I noticed this on a number of occasions, as well. I kept saying to myself, "You've got to change the snap count up!" On occasion they did change it up and Hill's hard count drew them offsides. Should have been doing a LOT more of that.

We can all sit here and blame Martz, Singletary etc. But Steve Young said it best. 49ers were fortunate enough to even be able to win that game with all the turnovers. It is very easy to put the blame on one thing when the game is so close. Don't turn the ball over, we win that game! Simple as that. We make plays, we win...simple as that!

Late 3rd quarter and all of the 4th Quarter errors. Hill fumbles, leads to a Cardinal FG. In the 4th. 3rd and 4, swing pass to Gore, he drops it. Easily could have had a 1st down and more. Next possesion, Hill picked off, leads to a Cardinals TD. Next possesion on a 3rd and 3, Hill picked off at the Arizona 18 (field goal range). Turnovers on 3 of the last 5 drives. That is why we lost.

Give Singletary credit: regardless of whether he gets the job or not, regardless of how many games he wins this year...he's already helped the organization to better understand what it has heading into the off-season. That's something Nolan didn't do nearly enough of -- especially when the team was already five games under .500. For example, last night we saw some real flashes from Chilo Rachal. I'm sure we'll see more in the second half of the year. It's also clear that Jason Hill and Josh Morgan can play wide receiver in this league -- and Ziegler looks like a player too. That means WR is not a huge priority for 2009. We understand more fully that Shaun Hill is indeed an excellent back-up, but not physcially gifted enough to be a starter who will win playoff games. We saw that Adam Snyder really is a right tackle, not a guard... I am hopeful we can learn more about Marcus Hudson and others too before the year is out. This way, when the draft rolls around in April, and the FA period begins, this team will have a better understanding of what holes need to be filled, and what areas need to be upgraded in a prioritized way. Thank you, Mike Singletary -- you've already upgraded the leadership factor in just two games. Keep going.

Best game the Niners have played in years.
The team is starting to take on the persona
of Coach Singletary. I think this team is
starting to turn the corner from the Nolan
era and moving forward. I've seen enough
to lock up Singletary as head coach to a
long term contract. Let him do the shopping, pick out the "groceries" and
allow him time to "cook".

I agree that the team played much better...strangely, I am also hungry

This was a hard loss as a Niner fan. Talk about going from an emotional high to an emotional low at the end. I thought we had it won... Thanks Martz.

I gotta say though... I really like Singletary. I hope the Yorks see the potential in him. He had the players playing harder than I've seen in years. He was interacting and congratulating constantly. The Niners physically beat up the Cards. You can tell the players believe in him and want to play hard for him. Like VD said "he's the best coach I've ever had". It will be interesting to see what this team does the rest of the way.

Another positive is our young players. Hill, Morgan and Rachal all played really well. Singletary is not afraid to play them. Good job to Scot McCloughan! All of a sudden our WR positions finally look promising for the future.

very impressed with our young Wr's - ....Walt Harris is DONE!!!!...funny thing about last night, I was sitting at a bar in freaking Arkansas watching the game (the only niner fan)....this Indian guy sits next to me and asks me "IS ALEX SMITH STILL WITH THE NINERS?" .....can't wait to have A.Smith back...next year is our year.

What the Cards D was thinking on the final play: "Defensive end Antonio Smith said after the game, he and his defensive mates were expecting a run, though probably by Frank Gore, not Robinson: "We knew they had to run the ball. We weren't respecting the pass, especially with the extra tight end in the game. We all just hunkered down, lowered our shoulders, and drove into them."

That last play was perfect for a play-action roll out by Hill. You could tell the Card's D was stacked, anticipating the run. Martz should have given Hill the chance to win the game. Oh well, coulda, shoulda, woulda I guess =(

hey matt, who is responsible for reviewing all comments before their posting? 'chip in fresno' was really pushing the envelope last night. i can appreciate his indirect apology (outburst due to drinking), but the fact that his unseemly comments were posted shows a lack of accountability on you or your staff. this is one the very few blog sites that provide a safe haven for the sports fan who wants to post their insights and comments. matt, i have come to believe that this blog site is a reflection of your honest and straightforward approach to sports. allowing anyone to taint what you have established without accountability or reproof would be a shame.

A.E.S I agree with you and will try to stay away during game time. I have no intentions of bringing down the moral of folks who just want to have good discussions. I shouldn't have tried to give any excuses. I want Singletary to remain the HC, but I worry about the revolving door of OC's we will continue to have until we have an offensive minded HC. My wish is that we can get a Tom Moore in Indianapolis kind of guy who is happy to just be a coordinator in this league. It's possible.

I was thinking the same thing...one of those play-action roll out J.Plummer used all the time....A.Smith was good at it too...

I support my team in the same way the sargeant in the army drills the private into being a man. I support the team in the same way a CRITIC pans or praises a movie. Let me give you an example: You lose, that's a bad movie. You win, that's a great movie.

That game last night, even if I did not see 100%, i saw ENOUGH highlights to know what happened out there. No pressure on Warner. No sacks on Warner. Warner dominated us like Brett Favre. The refs ripped us off by not letting Frank score, which he did!

Losses on MNF for 49ers these days are either blowouts or screwed up officiating that is UNACCEPTABLE! You want screw ups, catch Monday Night Raw, ECW

Dude, why are you even talking to me? You showed your true colors, you don't have my support. You're the savage red diaper doper baby in my view. Get a life. Don't talk to me.

And for the record, McCloughan is AGAIN flip flopping on Alex Smith as he MAY now be the starter. Well, gee, what convinced him, JTO's 17 Turnovers, the 2 and 5 record, the 4th quarter choke jobs? Well, hopefully if Smith's procedure is a success and we dumped garbage in Nolan and soon to be martz probably, Smith in 09.

It's called opinion and when your team loses, what would you do in your world? Be the so called better fan and say good game and ignore the fact the refs played the roll of crooks? Ignore the so called mistakes in the game? The only mistake was having the 49ers on MNF where MNF should be FLEXED like the SNF, and flexability should start by week 8, not week 11, and do away with the NFL Network Thursday night games!

Last night, somebody broke into my house which is a 49ers house and STOLE from me. You know what was stolen? A win! I felt like wow, I must've watched PRO WRESTLING out there instead of NFL and there's Vince McMahon in Roger Goodell letting the inmates run the prison in his refs.

I think the 49ers can win next week at home against the rams if they play this way again. What really hurts is they just can't hang with good teams. I honestly don't remeber the last time they beat a really good team outside of the division. When was the last time?

Chip, why do you have to apologize? God's sake, I seen Michael Savage blowing up on the air all the time, he never apologizes, why should you? I'll continue to have the Stone Cold 3:16 like opinion on the 49ers until I see what I want. I don't care if Singletary wants to yell, scream, take his pants off, crack the belt, throw a chair, scream at media, I WANT A DAMN WIN! I'm sick of the dog and pony show and you should TOO! I don't care if you drank, have some ANGER, have some REACTION! You can DO THAT YOU KNOW! This is not a COMMUNIST forum! This is not RUSSIA or KOREA! BE A FOOTBALL FAN! BE MAD FOR GOD"S SAKE! Be like Mike in Savage and BE ANGRY that we were RIPPED OFF! I don't care if you fans think we turned the ball over, we made a play call mistake, I Put this on the shoulders of the damn refs that JOBBED us out of that win, and Roger Goodell NEEDS TO FIX THIS DAMN BROKEN SYSTEM! I'm mad as hell as the 49ers fan, and I WILL NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE!

I really can't remember the last time Vernon Davis scored a TD without getting a 15 yard penalty at the end of it. Do you have the actual percentage? He must have some kind of record by now.

Thanks Randy, probably the best thing you ever said next to Michael Savage telling callers to TAKE A WALK. Just remember Randy, reaction is NOT RACISM. Catch Michael Savage one day, he's more educational then a sporting forum will ever be.

I really don't believe the refs stole the game. if you touch the ball carrier, and he goes down, he's down by contact. Thats just the way it is. We got our breaks too. I think the Adrian Wilson neutral zone infraction coud have gone either way. They hung in there, and thats more then I could have expected. Also you are entitled to your opinion, but I am thankful for the MNF game they gave us. We might not get one again for a while even if the team turns it around.

I don't know who Michael Savage is, other than he's probably another bad actor like the rest of them... You do know that is all fake, right?

Please tell me you know that much...

Darren, I said I was sorry because my comments offended everyone and I don't feel right about it. I love the niners and am frustrated with their lack of wins. Angry comments aren't going to change anything. Unfortunatly, I can't seem to get that during the game. I'm confident the team is going to do their best from here on out regardless of what we say on this blog. What people are saying is this is supposed to be a safe haven for quality discussion. I agree.

Chip, fans have to deal with the harsh reality. Even if the 49ers have potential, Ls do not improve a team and it turns off a home crowd. Candlestick may not be filled with home fans because, why pay for a bad stock? I don't like this either, but why should I exactly say to the team you're doing a good job? Good job means you give something for your company and right now, these group of 49ers give NOTHING. I don't care what the claim is they did it for Singletary, I don't care they lost by 5 points, loss is a loss. There is NOTHING good about it. We lost to a team that's a joke. A JOKE! It's a sick feeling, about as sick as losing to 2 and 7 Seattle. We now should've let the Lions beat us, that's how I feel right now because this team is acting like a 0 and 9 team, not a 2 and 7. They play like one, they act like one. Nobody is trying to win. I don't care what time ran off, you spike the damn ball with your players in there, just get to the line, spike the ball, then you sub! The refs needed better eyesight for I did not see Frank go down. The knee did not go down. That call was garbage anyway.

I have a right to be very angry and to be very vocal about what went on. A crime took place, and Chip, you do not ignore the crime as you are doing right now. See, that's the example of what I get when I talk to other 49ers fans, they don't want to see what I see on the team. It's always the better luck next time, and that's SICK to me. That's just SICK to say that to me. I don't want better luck next time. I want swift reaction. I want people benched. I want somebody called out. I want people yelled at. I want that game film to be burned, that's sick to see any of it! I want more practices and we keep practicing until it comes out right! I want no players having any form of communication.

See, that's my what if I ran the 49ers plan, similar to what Savage would do if he was President. Randy, www.michaelsavage.com if you don't know who he is. Thank God we can have a REACTON, even if you feel it's an OVERREACTION. It's far better then NO REACTION RANDY! WAKE UP SON!

HI Matt,

The last few seconds had me thinking if the team practiced this type of situation in training camp...which brings back the onus on Mike Nolan. Did the team run the two minute drill effectively in training camp?

Dude stop the butt kissing ..it is pathetic...."this blog site is a reflection of your honest and straightforward approach to sports".....ha ha ha..lmao
