Here's what's going on in 49erland:
--Cornerback Nate Clements is questionable, Singletary said, with a slight fracture of his thumb. He did not practice today.
INJURY REPORT
Did not practice: Clements (thumb) and PR/KR Allen Rossum (ankle).
Limited practice: S Dashon Goldson (knee) and WR Josh Morgan (groin). Morgan looks to be getting a lot stronger. He went up for a nifty leaping grab at the end of practice.
Full practice: S Michael Lewis (abdomin), WR Arnaz Battle (foot) and CB Walt Harris (he rested on Wednesday).

--Singletary said Adam Snyder is still the starting right tackle, but Barry Sims might see some playing time.
--Battle is looking good for a possible return. However, Singletary said he is not sure how much he'll play.
--Singletary promised that Ahmad Brooks will suit up for a game before the end of the season, but he said it does not look as if it will be for this week's game against the Jets. Brooks has yet to put on a uniform this season.
--If Clements is unable to play, Donald Strickland would probably start. Strickland is coming off a strong game as an extra defensive back against Bills.

Also, the 49ers announced a season-ticket freeze on prices for 2009. The organization sent the letter, signed by Jed York, to season-ticket holders:
"We recognize that what lies at the heart of the 49ers organization is the steadfast loyalty of our fans. In appreciation of your continued support we are freezing Season Ticket prices for the 2009 season.
"It is our obligation to provide our season holders with the highest value for their investment of time, money and emotion in our team. All of us at the 49ers -- owners, coaches, players and staff -- share a common goal of returning this franchise to its position at the top of the NFL. We will do everything in our power to get there. We know what our fans want, and more importantly what they deserve. I want and expect the same thing. I am committed to making the 49ers a Super Bowl champion again.
"Our family sincerely appreciates and thanks you for your ongoing commitment to the San Francisco 49ers organization."

Reggie Smith?
I hope Morgan can make it 2 TDs against each NY team. I really am liking his growth this season.
hey matt ...wz up with your spell check?...you are better than this...3 typos?
What? You can't count to four? --Matt M.
Hey Matt what is season-ticket freeze mean? Sorry if its a dumb question, just wondering.
Freeze on season ticket prices! LOL! They are in deep trouble for next year. They should reduce tickets prices for the product they put on the field. Heading to sixth straight losing seasons.
Matt,
Ever consider doing a book on the experiences of a beat writer? For example, something that you may have seen or have heard that's very unusual...
Matt You usually dont answer long questions but Ill ask anyway..
How would you feel about Morgan,Johnson and Hill as our receiving core going into next season?
Are we still getting new unis next year and when might we get a peek at them?
If you were in charge of the Niners and Crabtree is available do you take him or the best D-lineman/Pass rusher available?
Good to see Jed York is taking over,he seems to care about this team and hopefully gets us pointed in the right direction..
Yet another sign that Jed is the guy who's running the franchise and his parents are fading to the background.
I never liked Dr. York and Denise always seemed to defer to him.
I guess Jed is better than his dad, but I wish that Steve Young and Brent Jones were allowed to buy the team.
I'm hoping Jed is sincere. I'll give him the benfit of the doubt.
Well...
From what I read of Arizona, isn't Bidwell's son in full control of thE Cards? Now maybe, the old man in Bidwell has a reputation equal to Al Davis and John York, but Bidwell's kid seems to be dedicated in cleaning up the mess around Arizona. Now, granted it's hard to put Arizona as a good team since they haven't beaten a lot of good teams, and us fans want teams to be fully challenged before we associate them with other teams. But Bidwell's kid seems to have something good going for the Cards: The Cards got a new stadium. The kid seemingly has put together a possible potential to bring some creditability to the NFC WEst someday. The Cards have gone from bad to better in their new coach and a QB.
If Jed York can get what Arizona has in a new stadium and if Singletary is a good potential coach, I'd make Singletary the HC, but we need people like REid/Holmgren to help this team along badly and Jed has to secure it or the YOrks will continue to be the doofuses that they are.
As touchy as I am as a fan of the 49ers, I want success on this team. I am an angry Singletary like fan as I demand a lot better from this organization and their owner. If it's Jed York, I want him to do what BIdwell's kid has done, and that is get us a new stadium, retain us in Santa Clara, and make us a contender.
It's obvious local blackouts are coming if they do anything to ticket prices, but I feel the fans have already lost patience so unless the team actually wins, that local blackout will occur.
Hey Grinch I know I'm not Matt, but I asked the uniform question the other day and he told me that the deadline has passed for new uniforms in '09. I know we were told by the team last year that they'd be done this year, so that's really frustrating. I think the uni's are drab and boring.
Your other points interested me too, so I'm going to address them also! It's your lucky day my friend. I'd be surprised if Johnson is back next year. He's been adequate but with Hill, Morgan, Bruce, and Ziegler (not to mention Battle) I figure BJ is the odd man out.
I reallllllly want the Niners to focus on the lines with the first couple picks, but if someone like Crabtree is there (which I doubt) you might just have to do it. Same could be said for several non-lineman (McCoy?). Obviously this will come into more focus in the months ahead.
Interesting look at our Offense from Sando at ESPN. Comparing Nolan vs. Sing's offenses:

Since we vilified Eric Heitman yesterday, let’s now looking at our D-line and Franklin who is anchoring the middle. While we don’t have the fantasy sack stats, consider these pretty compelling Numbers below. No doubt P-52 and Spikes are also a big part of this, but do you all still think our NT tackle position is priority #1 in the offseason? The below would suggest a resounding NO:
The 49ers have allowed 3.01 yards per rush up the middle this season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. That is the second-best figure in the league, which admittedly comes as a surprise to me.
The top five teams in fewest yards per carry allowed up the middle: Vikings 2.48, 49ers 3.01, Steelers 3.15 and Giants 3.16. The 49ers rank seventh in rushing yards per play allowed. They rank 16th in rushing yards allowed per game, 23rd in total yards allowed per game and fourth in red-zone defense.
