Former Rams coach Scott Linehan became the second person to interview today for the 49ers' offensive coordinator position. Earlier in the day, Colts receivers coach Clyde Christensen interviewed for the post.

The 49ers might interview more candidates over the weekend. Former Browns offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski is expected to be on that list.

seems like a perfect fit.
i dont care about hc records as a coordinator is a totally different role to have

Did Linehan handle playcalling in all of his major roles in the NFL?

and......
boom goes the dynamite

Are Rob and Mike going to watch the playoff games together? Just kidding. I love how the process is going this year compared to all of the turmoil a year ago.

Patrick Willis missed being a first team all pro by 1 vote. Beason got 18. Willis got 17 for the 2nd slot next to Ray Lewis:

That'll be great motivation for next season.

That's a joke. Beason is good, but not Willis good. Being on a playoff team probably doesn't hurt either though.

I agree, Willis will be more motivated than ever next year. Hell, our whole team should be under Singletary =)

It's all so streamlined, so efficient, so organized. It's happening so soon and the candidates are all so qualified.

I'm not used to this.

This should be our man. Experienced, good numbers wherever he's been a coordinator, poor reputation as a head coach which means he'll be around for awhile. Likes to run the ball. Let's light this candle!

Put it this way, it's another change in a very unsettled position.
An optimist sees the potential of a good fit.
I'm hoping the optimistic approach is is the popular forum.
Sing is looking for a run first system which is fine.
I like to thought of developing the WR/TE options also, something that seems to be visibly lacking.
We're all anxious to see this staff get assembled but let's not expect that one guy will cure it all.
Sing will obviously allow latitude to the OC to bring in a QB coach so I'm curious to see which guy has that angle covered?
Christianson was a nice surprise interview, perhaps there's more fun to come?

Matt, do any of these candidates being interviewed this weekend run a form of the west coast offense? Thanks.

Matt, do any of the candidates run a variation of the west coast offense? Thanks for the great work.

Based on experience and performance as an OC, Linehan looks like the best candidate out of a good bunch.

Jordan Gross made the 1st team All Pro. I didn't know he was THAT good (tops in the league). I don't think JJ was close to that when we went after him. I think his rep was just OK back then....actually the same as it is now. Real solid WHEN HEALTHY. He had injury problems in Buffalo too (how did we miss that?) but ended up being a disaster here with the total number of games he played. We should seriously consider going after Gross in FA. Just make sure to check out his durability/amount of consistent PT first. We can't make the same serious mistake twice. If all the homework checks out I think the odds are he would make a great investment & give us that solid flexibility in the Draft. Just have a good feeling about this one this time around.

this would be a solid hire. Head coaches that fail often relish returning to coordinating where they can focus all their attention.
