Pascoe (6-5, 255) is a very good blocker who takes over for Billy Bajema, who signed this offseason with the Rams as an unrestricted free agent. He also caught 40 passes as a senior with four TDs.
Pascoe was first mentioned a couple weeks ago as a possible 49ers' late-round selection.
Now, the 49ers have two more selections remaining in the seventh round: Nos. 219 and 244 overall.
* * *
Pascoe was relaxing on the family's 30-acre ranch in Porterville when he got the call. OK, first things first. His given name McKenna Sean. But, as legend has it, he came out of the wound, "growling, ready to fight."
Pascoe is seen as perhaps the best blocker among the tight ends in this draft. He said he believes in showing up ready to play. He said one of his best attributes is his pain tolerance. He said there are times when he must play in pain (sounds like a Mike Singletary kind of guy).
Pascoe should immediately get the chance for playing time on special teams and as a blocking specialist. He would take the place of Billy Bajema, who signed a contract with the Rams. "It's definitely an upgrade there," Singletary said.

good call matt. Glad to ahve him.
Run away forklift in the middle of the field for the Niners. Will open up holes for Gore and Coffee.
Nicely done.
I like this pick Kiper says the 49ers got the best blocking TE in the draft.
You know it's a good draft we're having when the biggest 49er hater of all is calling ours a "fascinating one" and a "game changer" ;-)

One more guy described as tough "blue collar" type. This guy's even "old school". Wow. The Niners are being true to Sing's vision and stocking this team with no-nonsense tough guys. Gotta love it.
Nice pickup -one of your guys as I recall Matt...old school good blocker with hands!
he's nicknamed bear. what can possibly go wrong?
Tough. Smart. Proven skills on the football field. We're seeing a patern with these picks!
To me this is the best 49er draft in years-I'm not sure if it is Coach Singletarys' input, Nolans' absence, or McCloughans' attendance in a "How to draft camp" in this past February class. But I digress, with Snyder able to back up right tackle and the addition of a tackling machine linebacker from Pitt coupled with an extra 1st rounder next year maybe to set up a Tim Tebow theft I feel we are well on our way to being a much better franchise that will be able to compete now and for the future. P.S. thanks to Oakland(biggest reach in the draft)thanks Kanas City for another reach and thanks Green Bay for drafting out of need rather than BPA to allow us to have a guy who I believe can, after practice stop in down the road not far away and learn from Jerry Rice, begin to move towards creating his own legacy as maybe our 2nd best receiver ever.
Kiper has loved this draft for the niners. He has singled out every pick they have made.
I'm not 100% sure what that means, but it's nice to have some good press on the national scene!
Plus, the more I think about the 1st rounder next year the more I like it. Taylor Mays any one? Mabe Gerald McCoy from OK? Lot's of good options! When does training camp start?
Coffee is the only pick I have trepidation about- I thought him a reach but otherwise good values and solid picks indeed.
Coffee is OK. He'll be fine. But I became a big Shonn Greene fan. Would've liked him instead. It would've had to be in the 2nd RD though.
Still need an OT. Murhta, Trautwein/Florida, Alex Boone?
KORY SHEETS is still on the board!
Also Brandon Southerland...he does it all. Ferocious blocker + runs short yardage & catches well. A young successor to Norris but can be also be used as a weapon.
Really like Pascoe!! Another bruiser non-stop motor guy!
Matt? Did you sneak into the Rayduz war-room? You were just three rounds early on Sulak, but that was still impressive. What a coincidence.
Darn the Pats grabbed my guy Myron Pyor- NT- if they get Franz Joseph next round expect me to snivel big time!
pBoss believe it or not there is a safety rated higher than Taylor Mays, Tennessee's Eric Berry has been called the best safety prospect in the last ten years, so that means would could have a couple of options at the safety position.
No offensive or defensive linemen...........oh well
Hey Mike good to here from you-yeah I know Coffee is alright- just thought we picked him high(and we picked him quickly so maybe I'm wrong) I like Murtha and C Sheets also looking at Domonique Johnson at CB-well see soon!
That's great. Hopefully we still end up with mays. The kid will definately help out the secondary. As for the coffee pick, when you look through the 3rd round there weren't a lot of guys I liked better. If shon green or the michael Johnson would have fallen that would have worked. The only player that popped out later in the round was the safety Arizona got. Honestly though I think it is going pretty well.
I also wanted Pryor. Belichick is a man king among boys when it comes to the Draft. A dang magician the way he maneuvers & gets his guys at the right spots while picking up extra picks now & for next year. Guys amazing. We need to pray for some Bill Walsh karma every year at this time.
I agree with you I'd like to get another playmaker & we need an OT.
So somehow I'd like to get Sheets & one of Murtha/Trautwein/Alex Boone for the last picks.
Would've liked to get my man Mike Wallace in the 3rd RD. I don't trust Brandon Jones. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong. Understand they've already invested in their deep threat but Wallace ran a SUB 4.3/40 & has legit football speed!! I see Crabtree as an elite possession WR who will do most of his work short/intermediate so we'll need that deep threat to stretch the field. I just love Wallace's size & blazing speed. Comes from best competition SEC (Ole Miss.) You just can't have enough explosiveness & SPEED. The only way we would've had a shot was if we didn't trade up for next year. I was one that was against it though I see McCloughan's logic.
Last picks coming up! Favs so far.....Crabtree, the ILB, & Pascoe.
Curtis Taylor-( Safety)-another tuff guy I like it!
Coffee is an excellent hard runner who sometimes runs a little too upright but I'm very pleased with his selection because as I watched him play I was impressed.
