It was the usual Wednesday in the 49ers locker room before they hit the field for their first practice of the week in preparation for facing the St. Louis Rams . . .

--Coach Mike Singletary supplied one of those quotes that will probably appear in a marketing campaign within the hour:

"I have no problem with 'conservative.' If you want to say I'm a conservative guy, that's great. I have no problem with 'exotic.' If you say I'm an exotic coach, that's fine. I have no problem with any other adjective you use. But if you say I'm not a winning coach, then I have a problem."

--Running back Frank Gore (ankle) and safety Reggie Smith (groin) definitely will not play Sunday. Singletary said he expects everybody else, including Joe Staley and David Baas, to be available for the game, though they might not see much practice time in the next day or two.

--Singletary said there's a chance both Brandon Jones and Jason Hill could be active for Sunday's game for the first time this season. (Certainly, Micheal Spurlock's spot on the game-day roster is in jeopardy after his slow start.)

--The 49ers thought about promoting rookie running back Kory Sheets from the practice squad, but Singletary said it would not be fair to him. He is still learning a lot of the protections, and Singletary said Sheets is simply not ready to play.

--However, Glen Coffee will take over for Gore, and the offense will not be altered in the slightest. Behind Coffee will be Michael Robinson, and Singletary said fullback Moran Norris might get some carries, too, as the run game picks up the slack for the loss of Gore.

--I asked Shaun Hill about something I described as a "'robust man hug" with Singletary, and Hill responded, "We were both excited. . . . We were all excited. . . . I'm surprised Alex and Nate didn't fine me for that. I guess they didn't see the TV (copy)."

--On whether he would like to be placed in a position to throw the ball late in the game to run out the clock. "I don't think about those things," Hill said. "I don't dwell on that. Jimmy (Raye) has a wealth of knowledge, far more than I'll ever have."

--Safety Dashon Goldson on playing Brett Favre: "Up until that point, I looked at him as just another quarterback we were facing. There was nothing spectacular about him until that final play."

Matt, I hate this keeps coming up but was discussing this earlier and a interesting question came up.

Why can't Crabtree become a free agent next year rather then enter the draft? I assume there is a rule about players needing to play but... Also, could the (possibility of a) uncapped year at all play a roll in Crabtree getting more money?

....i love this coach sing...but this guy is setting himself up for the media...

all this fiery tough talk is gonna come back and bite him.....

we have only played 3 games - and he doesnt want this or that...

if we ended up below .500 this season - does he not realize the media is going to use this words against him.....

only nervous coaches behave like this.....nolan did the same thing....

The rule is you need to play 3 years before you become a restricted free agent and 4 before you become a unrestricted free agent. He does not have a choice to become a free agent. If he does not enter the draft the 49ers would hold his rights for 3 years.

His "Out" is reentering the draft. If he does that then any team can draft him except for the 49ers.

...all this religious fanatics always think they have all the answers from GOD......until something goes wrong then they blame everyone else....

one thing for sure Coach sing should not be the face of the niners (a player should be)......if he continues to be the face - we are in big trouble.

.."robust man hug" ....i saw that too - and thought it was pathetic....

B.Walsh will never do such a thing...or even parcells or dungy....i dont think i ever saw a top notch coach do that on the sideline....especially when the game was still on.....

....Coach sing should know better not to count his chickens before they hatch....

I was really hoping the one label he wanted to avoid was "predictable." Given the offensive play calling late in games, that seems the biggest risk for an unsuccessful season so far.

"On whether he would like to be placed in a position to throw the ball late in the game to run out the clock. "I don't think about those things," Hill said. "I don't dwell on that."

....what a joke...

this guy is no leader......this guy is a fraud...

can u even imagine Payton Manning or even Cutler saying something like that...

What do you mean you dont think about it?....wtf

You are the STARTING QB YOU SHOULD BE THINKING ABOUT IT.....

He should be telling Raye - let me take control of this.....

well - what r we to expect from a career backup...

pathetic....

if this is leadership and confidence.....i dont know what to call J.Montana and S.Young attitudes.....

this guy is a fraud....and i have no doubt eggs will be splattered on some faces....

I vote for oneniners profile to be deactivated.

Anyone else agree?

This "running the ball" offense is great if it works, and that takes a great line and runners. We seen to posess a good, but not great line. With Sims in, the right side is very weak. The rest of the line is adequate. It was a tough loss on Sunday and the team played as well as they could, but the last drive by the Vikings proved once again that "the offense and defense playing not to lose" doesn't work. I see Singletary is preaching toughness and desire, but I'm seeing Nolans "O" and "D" on the field and it didn't work for him and look where it got him. Remember the 3rd and outs for our offense and the Vikings 3rd down sucesses to see where we're heading. I predicted 6 wins and 10 losses for this year and nothing shows me anything else. The offensive play calling stinks, you have to score points to win. A field goal shows you failed to score (-4 points) and special teams scores are a gift.

Oneniner = braindead. Take him off life support!!!! Organs are no good for transplant due to the acerbic and emotionally toxic environment they've been kept in.

Man, lay off that Cialex drug you've been taking, you can't think with your primary brain anymore.

No one respects your opinion.

How does a player not have confidence because he won't throw his oc under the bus? That question was intended for Hill to give an answer the media can run with. IMO I would rather have a player "show" his confidence by going on the road in two loud & hostile stadiums down late in the 3rd quarter against good teams and take the team down the field and score the go ahead td. In one case to win the game and in the second to lose ONLY by a desperation heave. Now that to me is coah Sings "words" loud and clear. "Don't tell me, show me"!

Thirded.

Please? I'm starting to bypass the comments because of Oneniner's worthless dribble....

I agree he should be deactived. The negativity is ridiculous. I think this Blog should be more respected and appreciated. Matt can easily deactivate that option of the blog. lets not let one bad apply ruin us all

i would also like for oneniner to be ip banned from this site.

Coach sing is the best thing to happen to this franchise in many years. the play of our team represents that. i also remember walsh hugging not only joe montana, but also ronnie lott. parcells also hugged phil simms and jason witten.

to put cutler in the same catogory as peyton is also retarded. cutler is a whiny cry baby with a oft injured taint.

coach sing is motivating our players in grps and bunchs. the team is no longer an easy win. Hill is winning games. period.

so please oneniner jump of a bridge, slit your throat on the way down, and try to aim head first for a fire hydrant.

Jason Hill to be activated? Does this finally mean that we're going to use some 3-WR sets and open up the passing game a little? My gut says yes.

..i know the truth hurts......but someone got to say it

..........your...........post.............are...................annoying

You guys keep talking about banning Oneniner etc. But for some strange reason I have not been able to even see Oneniner's posts for over a week now.I see everyone else's posts just fine. Something must be wrong with my computer . I am soooo upset by this development ,lol. But it does seem that I have fewer headaches and a lot less nasaua lately, LOL .
Don't feed the troll !

I think he should have been gone a long time ago. Nothing worse than somebody who lies about their service to our country. Toilet Scum. He brings nothing. I skip over his comments like there not even there. Which is my point, there is nothing there...

Winning is everything oneniner. And Shaun Hill wins. I don't need it to look pretty. I don't need him to be the next Joe Montana. The only person with egg on their face is you, which is why you're getting so shrill and hyperbolic.

Well, Singletary's record as HC is 7-5, so he is correct. ...Reminds me a little of when Bill Parcells got his 8th win during his first year in Dallas and told the media that they could call the Cowboys anyting they wanted but they couldn't call them losers anymore.

*speaking to myself*

Follow your own advice, walk away.

You cannot have a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

Do not feed the chimp.

OK, I feel better.

Someone posted they want to see A Smith in the game....

why??

If the 9ers are up enough to put him in do you think that there would be even 1 pass play called???

I dont

What a surprise....another negative post from oneniner about Shaun Hill. I interpreted Hill's comment also as not throwing his OC under the bus. He has made it happen, and the call wasn't there for him to finish it properly against the Vikings. 3rd and 17 was pretty ridiculous to finally call a pass play. Can we move on and just destroy the Rams?

Listen, I literally skip over certain posts. I don't just say it, I do it. But then I have to filter through the other posts which when they're responding to a certain post I skip those too. Today was ridicules, I only read a few of the posts. Becoming a real waste of time.........

What happened to the person's post who pretended to be oneniner's mom? Was it because that is not allowed? Their name was within one letter I noticed (had 2 i's) I am assuming that is against the rules?

Man their post got deleted really quick that's for sure. Starting to wonder if HWSNBN is an imaginary person who does work with the PD to have pull to get a post pulled so quick. Are they just being annoying to draw more posts? Does MM's superiors just look at responses when evaluating his success in his blogs?

Maybe its one of matts competitors trying to draw people away. But then how could his competitors get a post removed so quick.

Matt say it isn't so....

That was odd, I thought it was a funny too. Dang.

one niners comments are both rediculous andobviously prejudicial, why is he alowd to post, I have never left a pst but in this case I will, he wines about coach sing, shaun Hill, and I suppose it wuldnt matter who was coaching or playing he would still be imature and inacurate what a joke he is, listen I hve been a fan since I was 8 years old I am now 44, and it has been a long time since us REAL FANS had something to be hopeful for, coach sing has this team believing they can win, and he has all real fans believing it as well, good job 49ers there isno quit in you and thats what we have been waitng for SOME RESPECT despite what oneniner says we now have some much needed respect, get a job oneniner you are a poser not a fan

For you veterans of this blog, his name is Darren. He alienated himself under that ID a year or two ago so he switched to oneniner. He's just another Internet troll.

Reply to 53niners:

Why would anyone want to see Alex Smith in the game.

Because 49ers would be out scouring the Rams 27-0 at lease
and you should pretect your starting QB. But your right 53niners, play calling will be very conservative with a capital C
and you see a healthy dose of Coffee

Matt, I know this is off topic, but would be interested to know if anyone in the press trailer (no names, of course) wondered about the Dolphins needing a QB after Pennington went down...and if the name Alex Smith was ever whispered? I only bring this up because, with Hill playing so well, and Davis clearly someone worth growing, it does make you wonder what Smith's long-term future with the team is. He's more expensive than you want a backup to be -- and you don't often find teams in desparate situations like the Dolphins who need to cut a deal to attempt to salvage the season... This is all speculative on my part -- I know. But deals tend to happen when they need to happen and they make sense for both parties. Where do you see Alex in the next year?

thanks go122 they other name i saw that said it was his mother was oneniiner

is that the one you mean?

Matt, I know this is off topic, but would be interested to know if anyone in the press trailer (no names, of course) wondered about the Dolphins needing a QB after Pennington went down...and if the name Alex Smith was ever whispered? oneniner - let me make an attempt to respond.

Contrary to what you say, Shaun Hill showed tremendous maturity and poise by NOT selling short his coach, as you would have liked. A Terrell Owens would publicly gripe about not enough plays that featured himself, and would throw his coach under the bus.

Sometimes, leadership is as much about what not to say as it is about what to say. Hill is a tremendous competitor, still somewhat of an unknown. He may never have Dan Marino-like stats, but wait another year, and you will see Shaun Hill has "suddenly" become a respected and feared QB.

Look! I've been living and watching through all the years Farve has been a QB! The guys been great, especially against the 49ers through his career! The guy is also the all time leader in INT's just to throw out a fact!!
Last year he played fairly well (didn't hurt the team) for about 3/4 of the schedule for the Jets. Some of players on the Jets even said he was the main reason the team fell apart at the last part of the season. Last year the 49ers made him look all of 39 years old with a mediocre pass rushing defense.
Now the guy threw his pass in the end zone, to a receiver who was breaking along the back of the end zone. He didn't have much of a choice in reality. It was either an interception, an incomplete pass or a catch for a TD. H was putting all his marbles in one bag with that pass! It either was or wasn't!
After the pass, Farve was laying down flat on the turf, then looked up, wasn't quite sure what happened, and then realized it was a completed pass for a TD! Good for him!!
In all the hoopla over "the greatness of Farve" seen and heard over and over all week, especially on the NFL Net that's always selling it's product, and on every other Sports media whether it's radio or internet one thing didn't seemed to be addressed.
The guy looks and plays older than he did last year! He moves like a fighter in the ring who has lost his legs. Yea! He threw some bullets including the TD pass. But at the end of the game he didn't look 40! He looked 50! The 49ers had put pretty good pressure and some hits on him and he was barely moving by the end of the game!
If the Vikings think this guy will lead them to the SB, God Bless 'em! But I don't think so! Not a chance in hell! Old man Raider QB George Blanda looked like a 20 year old compared to the way old man Farve looked at the end of the game!
I still say...NO WAY IN HELL!

Me too.

In fact, until he goes away, I really don't have any intention of posting here much or even of reading all the threads. He just gives me a (site decorum) headache.

I'm all IN!

Enough of the insanity but you become part of that insanity when you respond to his babbling. Just don't do it! Agreed everyone?

This is random, but is Glen Coffee wearing the "Roger Craig-esk" facemask??? I didn't really pay attention to it 'till last night when I watched the game on NFL Network. I think that's pretty cool, that facemask looks intimidating for some reason.

Seeing the game again, he actually had some pretty decent carries. This kid runs hard and I hope he continues to do his thing. The play when he got the wind knocked out of him was kind of his "welcome to the NFL" hit. After that he had a few nice runs.

I agree Snake. Open up the passing at least "a little."
Get the WR's more involved & into the game with a few more catches. Spread the ball around some to keep the Defense guessing.

Gotta love Sean Hill. I wish this dude had that legit NFL arm & he could be THAT franchise QB because everything else is money.

Maybe Hill still needs more time to get comfortable with the Offense but I'd like to see him audible more when they stack 9+ men in the box. I'm talking about the obvious overstacking of the box. IMO we have to at least make them pay when they're selling all out vs the run & daring us to pass. We have some good WR’s & Hill is smart & good enough to make the play. Audible to 1-3 or any of a handful of plays Hill & the Offense has mastered when it comes to calling a hot route or audibling to a set pass play vs the blitz. Kind of surprised he hasn't done it more. Has he audibled once yet this season? I could be wrong but I don’t think so.

Also I hope Raye is working on immediately coming up with a couple/few plays that counters the run blitzing many teams are throwing against us that AZ started. A lot of the blitzing is coming from the ILB’s. (Call a slant or crossing route in the middle in what we believe will be the unoccupied space..if it’s covered you go to your next option or outlet receiver.) I’m not recording the games this year so I can’t go back & see what formations teams are run blitzing on us but whichever those formations are if it’s on say a run look with a 2 TE set IMO we need to set up some passing plays out of that formation to counter if we believe the Defense will run blitz. Usually it’s early in our first Offensive series. If we catch them on a good gain or we didn’t succeed but yet we see the play has potential you build on it. If their run blitzing on our base 2 WR set we commonly open up the games with that’s even easier to set up a passing play out of. You just call it instead of doing the obvious with us which is running 95% of the time on 1st & 2nd downs in our 1st Offensive series. It’s still early & Raye is probably just getting warmed up & caught up with calling plays again. By the Bye week we’ll see if he’s making some necessary adjustments.

And D.Goldson is correct. Had it not been for the Niners secondary having a case of the dropsies, they would've had at least 4 picks on old man river!

Signed.

Please, Matt.

Hill was in a no-win situation when he was asked that question. If he says he would rather be given the opportunity to throw the ball, it appears as if he is throwing Jimmy Raye and Mike Singletary under the bus after being in just such a situation four days ago. If he says that he would rather run, he comes off as gutless. There was no correct answer. The truth is, he is not Peyton Manning or Jay Cutler, media darlings whose every sound bite is drooled over by the likes of ESPN. They could have gotten away with saying whatever they wanted. Hill just kinda picked a neutral answer. In the offseason, Coach Singletary said there would be times when the team would need to run the ball late in a game when they were ahead in order to seal the deal, and that is exactly the situation they were in on Sunday. I personally would have liked to have seen a more aggressive play called on that last 3rd and 6 to proactively stick the knife in the Vikings' chest and end the game, but that did not happen, and ultimately it contributed to a loss. This team plays exceptionally hard. The defense and special teams are legitimate. The offense suffers more from a lack of imagination than anything ... but they play hard, and they are good enough to win ballgames. It is probably good enough as long as the defense and special teams continue to excel to win the division and perhaps make a deep run in the postseason. Crabtree would certainly help. The team did draft him for a reason. On another note ... How about those PANTHERS!?!? A top 5 draft pick sure would be nice. Sam Bradford perhaps?

My vote has been casted. ONENINER........ Please extinguish your torch and leave the tribal counsel immediately.

Oneniner, This is a free country and you have the right to post your opinion, however, what is your problem! Are you bipolar? where you abused? are you suicidal? Are you just PO at the world? did you have a crush on S.Hill and he igonred you?

Dude, the only person on this site that appears nervous should be you not a hall fame pro football player and a coach that is well respected around the league!

I can tell you that you are not a fan but a sorry example of a fan. Good luck to you, because you really need medication and a good treatment plan! MM, please tell me this !(onewhiner) is your marketing strategy for getting reaction from the rest of 49er faithful!

Regardless of what I think of oneniner and his fatal attraction for the BUST (also know as Alex Smith), I can tell you he is not Darren. I remember Darren and oneniner arguing quite frequently back in the day. In fact, Darren has plagued Mike Sando's NFC West blog for the past 2 years. At least here they banned his IP. Over there he's been banned 100 times and still comes back for more. The dude has major issues...

Terry, as a former football player and a true fan I have tremendous respect for Mr. Favr, however I completely agree with your comments. A little bid of luck is always nice to have on your side! just a play before he could have been intercepted for 6 points! I truly hope we can make it to the playoffs and play them again.

many requests to Matt to bar a poster. While I never agree with anything he posts and I believe he does this just to rile people up (successfully). He is not profane and his attacks on individuals are not any worse than I have seen (or probably done myself) towards him. Bottom line, I don't see Matt giving him the boot. My advice is to bypass the posts, don't get sucked in, I know it takes discipline; personally I am working on it.

Don't feed the chimp as he'll respond spewing his own excrement. He needs the banter, don't play.

Matt, we have an angry mob here. Will you please respond and explain why Oneniner is allowed to ruin the otherwise good quality of your blog? Seriously I'm considering boycotting this venue like others have just to avoid the aggravation. Sure you can skip over his posts like I do but then half the other posts are responses to his idiotic drivel. When so many are upset by one individual you allow to post here you could at least explain why this is a good thing. Maybe if we had a feature to individually block certain posters (like parental control on TV) that would be a step in the right direction and then we can all agree to Never take his bait and respond.

Stampede: the particular face mask you speak of is the Riddell Robot Facemask. that's the one craig wore.

not sure if coffee wears one, but a lot of db's and rb's still do.

the first guy I remember wearing one was Eric Dickerson at SMU and then throughout his pro career. Craig James might have worn it too with E.D. at SMU... but don't hold me to that.

My $5 says Jason Hill continues to sit.

:-(

Maybe an ignore feature would be more effective on this blog. That way if someone doesn't like a certain member's comments, they can choose to ignore the member which would render those comments invisible to that reader Just a thought...

oneniner haters,
this country has bled and died to preserve free speech. Everyone's free speech, not just the folks you happen to agree with.

If you don't want to read oneniner, don't.

Now STFU about him and talk Niner football

Just a thought. (This is a clearer explanation.) But the play vs the run blitz could go something like this. You think that the team is going to run blitz off a common run formation we use.

Call the play. Hill quickly turns for the fake handoff to the RB, RB stays put for the potential oncoming blitzer, FB also stays in to block in case of a 2nd ILB blitzer (3-4 D team). After the fake handoff Hill's immediate check is did the ILB's blitz & is the middle open? If yes, booyah the play goes as planned & you hit your primary receiver on the slant, down & in, drag, or crossing route into the ILB's now unoccupied space. If the ILB(s) stand pat you FORGET your primary receiver & go immediately to options 2 & 3. You could have the RB &/or FB flare out as outlet receivers on a delay if no blitzer or only 1 comes then in that case the untied RB/FB goes out on the delay as the outlet receiver. Point is the play is set up to attack the ILB's blitzing & if they don't blitz you forget that #1 option. The play now is immediately plan B..go to options 2 & 3 which is now the primary play since the ILB's didn't bite.

16280: I get the impression that matt doesn't read this far down the blog. some the older vets could probably tell you better than I, but it seems, when he responds it's usually not log after his new entry posts.

he does have a job and family, you know...

perhaps we should all email him directly to tell him the blog experience is being ruined? I would hate to bug him that particular manner...

I think the best thing to do is as soon as the new post is up... all messages should read "please matt, ban he who shall not be named" but actually name him... which I won't do here.

I think your $5 is safe unless Brandon Jones gets hurt again. You'll see a lot more of Jones before you see Hill, just because they paid Jones FA money.

From what i can remember, Matt has always been quick to remove posts that are not acceptible. Apparently Oneniners posts are acceptible. Even if they are annoying, I don't think anything will be done about it. Matt perhaps Oneniner can write something in your "New Forums" section and everyone who wants to talk about his favorite subjects can join him, and the rest of us can focus on your topics. Your blog does rock though! I personally get a kick out of his irrational behavior sometimes. It's kind of like staring at a brutal car wreck as you drive by. I certainly don't care to respond to it in most cases.

"On whether he would like to be placed in a position to throw the ball late in the game to run out the clock. "I don't think about those things," Hill said. "I don't dwell on that."

...maybe you are right - he isnt trying to throw the coach under the bus......

but this is the same guy that said some negative things about Martz......

...he could have said that or this...

but instead he focused on HIMSELF -which is why it is fair to critic him ...

Again this JOKER said "I don't think about those things," - there is no excuse for that....

HE HIS SUPPOSSED TO BE THINKING ABOUT IT - A TRUE LEADER DEMANDS IT.

I mean it totaly fit what we see on the field....playing safe, no long throws, nothing more than what was drawn on the board

When a play is called, and things fall apart he gives up, he does not improvise - it is what it is

i was so right about this crap shooter

cmon - i cant believe a bunch whinners will lower the standard of the 49ers QB

A 49er QB to the nfl is like a Pope to the catholic church

WE HAVE STANDARDS - AND THIS IS FAR FROM IT

Gimme a break - this guy is nothing but a fraud...

"but wait another year, and you will see Shaun Hill has "suddenly" become a respected and feared QB."

- Ha ha ha ha....lol...u joking right - u kidding right

this guy is not going to be our QB next yr ....cmon You all know this...:)

Are you sure they're not the same person? He might have a split personality and was arguing with himself back then while his sanity was fading in and out.

..:) ...you guys are funny.....any one reading your comments will be wondering y most of you love me so much

...if most of oneniner lovers just counter my points with reasonable points instead of insults.....this will help yu out wit ur therapy

its obvious you know i am right but decide not to agree for sum reason......instead you prefer insults and them blame me for bringing down the discussion

as most of you know i am all about niner football.....all this other stuff i ignore

am here to read and give my opinion on the read....

not sure why that is so hard to understand that, but then again the same people who love oneniner so much think S.Hill belongs in the hof.....

talk about needing help!!!!

Steve Young likes Shaun Hill, would you call Steve Young a fraud too???

you make some valid points...

as far as i'm concerned we should trade Hill and start the QB at the local HS down the street. hahaha

Hill has 2 chins and is def not the sexy QB we need to win!!!

everyone else is just stupid for the fact that they can't see this. I mean man... Smith's ass is 100% sexier then Hill's and his facemask allows him to see the field better and make the better throws.

My LEADER SHOULD NOT ONLY DEMAND IT BUT REQUIRE IT WITH A SIDE OF POLISH SAUSGAES!!!

Besides that... I think Shaun should just give up on life completely and fish for a living for crying out loud.

And you are RIGHT oneniner... every damn thing you say is 100% right on. I wake up wondering how in the hell it's possible for someone to know SO MUCH about this sport. It's mind boggling to be honest.

In the end.. I think Sing is ALL smoke and mirrors and Hill is just a disgrace to each and every single person to ever even watch a Niner game.

He should be THROWN in jail or stoned... damn it we should pull a William Wallace on him and just be done with it!!!!

Ronnie, good call bruh! I just did a quick side by side of Coffee's and Craig's masks, and Coffee has a couple vertical bars that Craig's didn't. I love to old school, "caged" look of the thing though.

Returning from my Michael Crabtree hiatus (for just a moment). Could it be that MC' foot is not 100% and he is stalling for time (perhaps the Niners won't swing a contract pending their own medical report).
The Niners should now play hard-ball and give MC a signing deadline. If he does not sign by the 5th game they should recind any and all offers for the reminder of the season.

Unlike everyone else, I hope you DON'T get banned. I think you're hilarious! Sometimes in the back of my mind, I think you're Terry Donahue.

I vote for oneniner to be the admin of this blog!!!

I mean jesus... can any one of us even imagine what it must be like to be a genius of his stature??? I think not...

I tried hiding or burying the fact that everyone else is wrong when it's obvious he knows it ALL. i've never met you oneniner but i bet you're more handsome and stunning then johnny depp and brad pitt combined!!!

and I would bet money that you were offered $20 Mil contract by the Niners to make every critical decision that would no doubt bring us suberbowl after superbowl after superbowl. BUT I DID HEAR THE RUMOR THAT THERE IS A TEAM OUT THERE WILLING TO PAY YOU $40MIL... so F the Niners and get what your worth...

Cuz what you feel is what you are oneniner and what you are is a FOOTBALL FREAKING GENIUS!!!

if you're ever in the Bay ARea could we please meet up for a beer because by being in your mere presence I know for a FACT that I would hook up with a SUPER HOTT Chick... obviously if you let me because everyone knows she would go after you first.

let me know!!!

later BUDDY!!!

"He who shall not be named" has a new theme song: Ramble On - by Led Zepplin.

Just watched NFL Total Access on the NFL channel, the part where they explain why certain penalties were called over the weekend. They reviewed the call on Spencer and another in the Houston game. You only have to listen to the NFL's Mike Pereira explain the calls one time to realize why the officiating in the league is so poor. This guy helps interpret the rules and reviews the officiating crews? He appears to have the common sense of a door knob.

Oneniner, are you really a 49ers fan? Everything you say is a joke. We don't need fans like you. The Raiders need fans why don't you go join their pathetic team and organization. Shaun Hill is not a great QB and not the long term solution to the 49ers. But he has more wins in less opportunities than Alex Smith. The NFL is about wins not about who you think is better and more athletic. If Alex was so good, he would have won this job FIVE years ago and kept it. He didn't!! See Flacco, Matt Ryan and now Sanchez. Alex Smith is a BUST! Get over it! Singletary has already affected this team positively. Free Agents will want to come here again to play for Sing. Carolina will keep losing and we'll have a top 15 pick next year because of them, not us. If this team makes you so angry and you want Shaun Hill to fail so badly, why do you root for them? There are 31 other teams looking for fans.

his foot checked out fine.. 49ers have absolutely no concern.

benny... omg! you are so on to something!

oneniner... I am so sorry for everything! you are right and we, the collective hivemind are wrong.

I look forward to your posts and look to your wisdom for guidance... you are the quarterback of the MM blog!

YES WE DO NEED FANS LIKE HIM!!!

You don't KNOW anything... oneniner is the definition of a TRUE NINER FAN!!!

Ronnie... OMG... You saw the light too?!?!?

I feel saved by oneniner =) I can't believe it took this long for either of us to see it.... it's elation to the extreme!!!

CHEERS to oneniner... the QB of MM's BLOG!!!

oneniner = blog pollution

Sorry, Ronnie, i'll only believe what 'oneniner' has to say on the subject, lol!

Hey guys,

I enjoy reading all your posts on this page. For the most part everyone here is several steps above your casual football fan. I admire the professionalism and the fact that most acknowledge or look deeper than "blame the quarterback".

Here is my two cents so far on this year’s team:

We ARE predictable.
In fact, not only are we predictable, but we even tell the other team what we are going to do. We are going run up the middle and hit you in the mouth.
Suppose I said I was going to rob your house tonight and I am going to come in through an unlocked door. What would you do? I think you'd lock your doors. This offense is about as predictable as the Mariucci/Knapp offense; run, run, pass -run run pass- run, run pass. And at that, you could guarantee that his pass on 3rd and 8 was going to be for 6 yards.
Matt even pointed out that our average third down distance was a little less than 9 yards. That just telegraphs a pass. And the defense sets up for it. It’s kind of like knowing the pitch sequence of a pitcher. You know when the fast ball is coming.

My point being: You can only tell the other 31 teams what you are going to do if it is nearly indefensible. Like knowing that the Bills were going to run OJ. The Lions running Sanders, the Oilers running Campbell. The other teams knew it was coming, but couldn't stop it. The moral of the story is none of the above teams to my knowledge won a championship. Mainly because they were predicable and one dimensional.

voiceofreason

unfortunately, he is also causing me to not read the comments either.

I totally agree but I think they're letting the team build a foundation first and then will add to it later.

The more complex you get the more room more mistakes... we've won 2 games.. almost 3 by grinding it out.

We have also played 3 really tough games... so I can imagine that if we get a early lead and dominate to the point that we don't lose focus. Raye will start opening the door to a little more creativity here and there.

maybe I'm wrong but I kinda see this is where it's going IMO.

Benny, I have to agree that 2.2 yds/rush for the Minn. game is grinding on some of us. How about something on 2nd down besides a run up the middle? Try to fool the defense atleast once in awhile because the exhibition games are over. You can't keep practicing the same plays over and over. I hope you're right about the foundation part because if it's not, the frustration will mount quickly.

one niner the truth does hurt, like hills winning record and coach sing's whinning record, our dominating defense or the overall culture change in the team.

and thats it isnt it? the culture change of the team. a 49ers qb is like the pope? a qb is only one guy there are ten others on the field too.

and if anyone needs to be compared to the pope it would not be our past qb's...it would be the greatest player to ever play his position. the nfl all time leader in yards period. the great jerry rice.

to everyone else on this blog, i submit we just come up with a special name for oneniner. something along the lines of oneturd, delusionalone or we can keep it simple with jackass. but i open the floor to all of the real niner fans.

Singletary is trying to "build" something here. It's not going to happen overnight. If it does you end up like the Dolphins this year. And to the point of being predictable? Tom Brady and the Pats passing game in 2007 was so predictable but they did it to perfection by "executing". That's what football is all about. Executing!! Fact is that we are 2-1 and should be 3-0. Minnesota was who we thought they were! And we let them off the hook! Lol. In year's past, 49ers would have gotten blown out in that type of game. I think they are in every game this year and I don't care if every game is tight as long ad we come out on top. I believe in Singletary. This team is doing a lot of good things but there are a lot of things that could improve. No team is perfect. We still have haters? Kind of annoying when the haters are Niners fans. Those aren't true fans. But what would the world be without haters?

Hill, Coach Raye and Coach Sing were doing their job while the niners came back from a 10-0 deficit in a totally hostile environment that niner teams of Erickson and Nolan would have folded up in. They were on running the show during the long fourth quarter drive to take the lead also. The niners were beaten by a great play from a hall of famer. We'll learn form the loss.

Some of you need to crawl back under the carpet where maggots live and prosper. This is a fun season in a totally new era. It don't have to be pretty to be a win. Meaningful games in December and January are what matter. Scurry out from under the carpet in December and see if we're in the hunt.

Just like many of you I was frustrated with the play calling on Sunday. Same play right up the middle with out any twist or deception! however this comitment to the boring play calling really set up both touch down passes to vernon and the long play to Bruce in the AZ game!

Give Jimmy a chance, I truly believe he will open up the play book once he starts to get a better feel of S Hills abilities. Keep in mind Jimmy is a new OC and it will take at least 4 to 5 games for the offense to come together.

how do you know we never met?......

if you had thought of that alone i would assume your IQ was close to average.....

Amen Kelvin, I have not been more excited about any other 49er coach in a long time!!! Coach Mike S is going to turn our beloved 49ers back to the glory.

Just scroll, baby, scroll!

Matt, just a thought the trade 49ers made this past draft with Carolina looks pretty good. Carolina being 0-3

I"ve already stated this was the best 10:00 game against a quality opponent in a long, long time. That being said, this loss was similar to last years AZ loss because they should have won both games but didn't because of questionable coaching decisions. If the players are to be held accountable for poor performance so should the coaches. They passed the ball to score both times this game, so how about a pass for a first down in the 4th quarter? Even if the Niners are a better team under Singletary, they still can't afford to give away wins and still make the playoffs by being too stubborn in their coaching philosophy.

Had they won that AZ game last year, they would have made the playoffs instead of the Cardinals. SO EVERY GAME YOU SHOULD WIN IS IMPORTANT!!!

I was thinking about that too. Carolina has a tough schedule besides Tampa Bay. If they continue to play at the level they are its highly unlikely they win more than 5 games. I smell a top 10 pick, I hope they ride the interception machine out all season.

Speaking of Carolina I doubt they try to franchise Peppers again next year. I hope the niners go after him if they dont.

Hi Matt, Do we have to have people making 10, 15, 20 comments on each of Matt's blogs? If you have to talk go to a chat room. Have respect for others and Matt's blog. Niners overpower Rams, Coffee goes over a buck and the D puts another hurt on their opponent.

"Had they won that AZ game last year, they would have made the playoffs instead of the Cardinals. SO EVERY GAME YOU SHOULD WIN IS IMPORTANT!!!"

Yea, but if they did they wouldn't have been in position to draft Crabtree! AND then where would they be??? Oh, never mind :)

oneniner...
I'm not even sure what you just said but it doesn't matter. You are my role model :D

F S.HILL!!!

I'm bummed Sheets isn't going to get to play this week

I'm excited to see what Coffee does as the the lead dawg

I want our DL to have 5 sacks Sunday!!!

First, let me say that I am impressed with the job Singletary has done with the Niners this year. We all know what kind of teams we've had for the last several years so the improvement is well received. But I think we are so happy with what we have seen so far that we have blinders on. I've watched all of the Monday press conferences with Singletary and I think the questions have been very softball. Singletary's style is to intimate and he also does that very well during the press conferences with the Niner beat writers. As a fan, I'd like to hear and understand why he did things (or didn't) during the game in a certain manner. When asked a somewhat tough question, Singletary will say he isn't going there and that they will work to get better and the writers back off. In Ira Miller's day, he would never let Walsh off by saying he wouldn't answer. Maybe part of the situation is that Singletary isn't totally secure in his role as coach - not sure. Ralph on KNBR has done a good job, but Singletary gets a bit cranky if Ralph doesn't back off. Part of being the HC is dealing with media when things are good, bad, win, or lose.

Yea, but if they did they wouldn't have been in position to draft Crabtree! AND then where would they be??? Oh, never mind :)

Sorry, I forgot about that.

But then again even if they had dropped several slots in the draft, they still might have been able to draft him and for evn less money at that. Then Crabtree could have been asking top 5 money from the 13th or 14th slot. Life can be so unfair.

Sorry to disagree! And you brought up the politics. But
your statement: "this country has bled and died to preserve free speech"???
I think "this country has bled and died to preserve Wall Street, Banks and Big Oil! And maybe you should read the news section of the Press Democrat before coming to Matt's Blog.
Sorry. But the truth is the truth!
Now! The Rams game still makes me nervous. I know they have just about nothing in the way of football talent right now. But this game is a bookie's dream and bettor's nightmare!
Not saying the games are fixed or anything like that.

"Yea, but IF they wouldn't have been ..." "But even IF they had dropped several slots ..."

IF my Aunt had balls ... She'd be my Uncle!

....i love this oneniner...but he is setting himself up for the commenters on this blog...

all this fiery tough talk is gonna come back and bite oneniner.....

we have only played 3 games - and oneniner doesnt want this or that...

if we ended up above .500 this season - does oneniner not realize the others are going to use his words against him.....

only a nervous oneniner would behave like this.....Darren did the same thing....

Did you even read smokindoggies comment to me? You'd see my comment was a nonserious comment to his nonserious comment. Sorry about your Aunt/Uncle
( Aunclet maybe) life can be so unfair.

..:) ...you guys are not funny.....any one reading your comments will be wondering y most of you hate oneniner so much

...if most of oneniner haters just countered his points with unreasonable points instead of resonable ones.....this will help yu out wit ur therapy

its obvious you know he is right but decide not to agree for sum reason......instead you prefer to give him facts he can ignore and them blame him for bringing down the discussion

as most of you know he is all about skewed niner football.....all this other factual stuff he ignores

He is here to read and give his opinion on the read and piss on everyone who disagrees with his take....

not sure why that is so hard to understand that, but then again the same people who hate oneniner so much think S.Hill belongs in the hof not because you said so but because obviously any unreasonable person could tell you that if you think hill should start you must think he belongs in the hof.....

talk about needing help!!!! You oneniner haters are hopeless

If all you people get on here to read the blog then do so and leave and you will never have to worry about oneniner and anything he does, says, thinks, and cares about...Most of you complain about him being overpowering on this blog but you can do nothing to shut him up...it is called freedom of speech and if you don't like what is on then change the channel....he could post pictures of someone eating babies on here and it would not bother me because if it upset me that bad then I need to get a life, find something else to look at, and decide if his being a part of this blog was enough to keep me away from the #1 source of Niner info...grow up people and block yourself from scrolling down if it is that bad for you.

you are exactly who i was talking to....cry me a river for GOD's sake....and santa and the easter bunny too while we talk about imaginary figures...you are all so sensitive..why dont you get some intestinal fortitude and stop whining like a female...bet you get jealous real easy too

Wow Ike ..... You dont like me? No big news there.

Also I do wish he was banned (because I hate him) and I do have a right to say that its called FREE SPEECH YOU HYPOCRITE.

Those that do complain they have that right too YOU HYPOCRITE

They dont have to stop typing they dont have to leave the blog after they complain they have that right under FREE SPEECH YOU HYPOCRITE

You have obviously let your own biases blind you into expressing your hate towards me by trying to discredit me or anyone else who complains.

ALl you have done however is prove you are a HYPOCRITE.

So everyone complain away because it obviously pisses Ike off and if he doesnt like it he can just take his own advise and leave.

By looking at much of this blog, you'd never know the Niners were within an eyelash of going 3-0. I've never seen such squabbling over some who's mantra is ranting negatives. These folks have a right to their opinion...just like Ray Ratto does. I don't dwell on the negatives they constantly spew, because I choose not to. I like how Singletary's coaching our team...because he "gets" his team and they "get" him. That's all I really care about...

Thank you Frank...well put. I don't come here to read 7th grade level squabbles between blog posters. I come here looking for insight into my favorite team.

If you don't like someone else's comment, just ignore it and don't respond. Otherwise, if you do respond, it becomes a missile launching fest that feeds into the already pre-conceived notion that all 49er fans are whiny babies.

Thanks for your always unbiased, informative reports, Matt. Keep up the good work and please don't shut down the blog due to a few readers' immaturity.

I think Ike and Oneniner should be banned. Please add to the list anyone else who doesnt agree with me :p

Now I would also like to bow my head in prayer and praise the lord for our wonderful head coach mike singletary all those who would like to join me please feel free to bow your head along with me. Except Michael Moore since he is a canadian and as we all know canadians dont have souls.

Now join me in a hymn
Sing it with me!!!

Onward, Christian 49ers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
At the sign of triumph Satan’s oneniner doth flee;
On then, Christian 49ers, on to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
Brothers lift your voices, loud your anthems raise..........

Oh yeah and global warming is a fraud and priests molest alter boys. But that's ok since they usually only do it once a week. That means they are good the other 6 days right?? because 6 is more than 1!!!!

Republicans too cant stand those guys cuz they dont care about black people.

Oh yeah and Hitler was just "misunderstood".
Slavery wasn't bad. It was just a poorly thought out jobs for food program.

Did I leave anyone out if so please let me know and I will try to insult you too since it is my freedom of speech.

well maybe we shouldn't ban ike he was right about this being the #1 source for niner information.

Nahhh ban him when I read what he types I hear it in a strange accent so he must be one of them illegals !!! Wish they would all just go back to where they come from.... you know.... that place called "home depot"

Oneniner is Baltimore Dave aka Salty Balty the dude who calls KNBR constantly to complain about every single pimple on the ass of the Giants and Niners and why our beloved teams dont go 162-0 and 16-0 yearly...unreal!!

The irony of hypocrisy is rampant on this post today. Just this weekend many of you were making scathing comments about Jimmy Raye. Many of you gave your rationale for being insulting to our OC. Most claimed that they were passionate fans that expect more for the 49ers. That is the exact same argument oneniner gives for Hill. If you don't agree with the dude, don't. Tell him and move on, or ignore him. But I hate going through 30 post of lets ban oneniner, or oneniner is a traiter. He is just a fan that likes to complain. His main issue is Hill. We have 53 men on our roster. Can you guys communicate with him on the other 52? Somebody ask him about Willis. Somebody ask him about Goldson. Ask him about Vernon Davis's performance this week. Just don't talk to him about Hill. It will only upset you.

Hence the name High Priest? Touche' Good advice.

Let's realize that this is an opinion based outlet for our inner 49er. It's therapy on Matt's Cyber Couch.

Just trying to help keep the peace. I also hate seeing one person get ganged up on, even if I don't always agree with him.

Agreed, it's all about getting along, especially since we ALL (apparently), follow the SAME Team?

Sometimes I wonder?

Everyone knows you don't like Hill, I don't like my bank account total sometimes. But what we got, is what we got. Most people don't look at Hill as a superstar, but he does have the keys to the car. Look, Joe Montana and Steve Young aren't walking through that door. Your only going to raise your blood pressure, and give half of this blog a stroke. I know you are a niner fan. Try to be positive more often. We have more to be optimistic about, than bitter. You criticize Hill out of defiance for your detractors. You gain attention as a devils advocate, but you are also gaining adversaries. The glass is half full my brotha'. Your a funny guy when you want to be. Try using your wit at somethings we can all agree on. You will find yourself with less arguments and more allies.

I understand why 49er fans are so frustrated by the recent failures of our franchise. We went from the hierarchy of the NFL hegemony, to a fringe voice living of a glorious history. Kind of like France. But I believe whole heartedly the Niner Nation will rise again!

I understand why 49er fans are so frustrated by the recent failures of our franchise. We went from the hierarchy of the NFL hegemony, to a fringe voice living of a glorious history. Kind of like France. But I believe whole heartedly the Niner Nation will rise again!

off a glorious history (typo)

I appreciate your common sense...but

"Try using your wit at somethings we can all agree on. You will find yourself with less arguments and more allies. "

.....cmon where is the FUN in that.....its comedy reading this insults over my opinions

I believe i agree with 80% of what most with brains say about the team....

but the other 20% - i am sorry i rather agree to disagree

"I also hate seeing one person get ganged up on, even if I don't always agree with him.

Clean those rose colored glasses you wear!!!
He who shall not be named" gets ganged up on because that's what he wants. That's the only reason for his comments, he likes and needs to be a s*** disturber for the attention. A few times he's been good at it , but mostly his comments are just a boring rehash!!!

Hey Matt,

Quick Jason Hill question for you. Do you have a sense as to why the coaches are not high on him?

ie: is his route running sloppy? mental mistakes? work ethic?

Or is it just that the other receivers really captured the coaches' notice with their work and effort, and Hill faded to the background?

WOW!!!!! Oneniner, I can't believe you said Sean Hill belongs in the HOF!!

He's a servicable back for sure. He doesn't lose games but then won't win them with plays like the one that Farve made, but HOF?!

I'm fine with him until we can get someone better in here (maybe Nate down the line). But let's not quite immortalize him yet.

It's really strange you would say that because I thought you preferred Huard (a ridiculous viewpoint to say the least when you compare the two but to each his own I suppose).

OK, joking aside (got a rise out of you I'm sure). Hill is doing fine. He is what we need right now. Let the group of recievers we have show a little more play making ability and the line show some good protection on a consistant basis, then we can bring someone in who can air it out. You know, the offense hasn't really opened it up yet, so who's to say Hill can't do it.

Too bad the Niners couldn't foresee the problems with Crabtree early enough and attempt to trade him to Baltimore for Troy Smith. Not saying he would be better than Hill but from the action I've seen him in, he's not bad. He was going to be the starter over Flacco until he got the flu and lost all that weight. Flacco stepped in and performed well so there went Troy's starting job. Having him here would at least legitimize Hill and would have given him some good competition and potentially improved our QB position.

Nate did well with the limited action we saw, but let's not name him a better choice yet. Let's see some game time against 1st team defenses before we name him heir apparent.

For now, Hill is winning and getting it done. Don't mess with it. The play calling (mainly offense with one or two bad defensive calls) and the bad tackling in the fourth quarter (maybe the defense is tired after all those offensive 3 and outs) were the causes for the loss.

Lay off Hill and go after those areas, those are the real problem.

...i guess Hill won those 2 games ....and the team lost the last one.....is that your point?

All this talk about Shaun Hill is getting boring. It is actually pretty funny to be talking about Hill so much since he has not done anything horrible for us to chastise him. He has actually come threw every time he was asked to... Let's see what the next two games bring.

I think we have other issues besides Hill. Like what if Coffee goes down on the first play. Or is Manny Lawson going to give us a sack before the bye week... and if not should someone else start to light a fire under his a$$.

Close but not really. The team didn't lose that game, the OC did. I'd really like to see Hill audiblize out of those late game crappy calls but then he'd benched and we'd be in worse shape.

And also to point out that Hill is not a problem. He's winning.

We can worry about a better QB down the line. QB's who can get it done don't grow on trees, in case you haven't noticed the last few years.

Actually Brekkon I agreed with you and yet you call me a hypocrite...well do what makes you happy and please tell me where I told people to not post thier hate for oneniner..All I am saying is I wish people wouldn't be so sensitive and implore them to be man/woman enough to stop whining and just deal with it...As annoying as oneniner's antagonism might be..I find thier schoolgirl sensibilities much more...anyways eff it throw some hate my way too...Here is to 3-1 after Sunday

Matt,
I don't understand something: how can a team that announces that it intends to run the ball 60% of the time start the season with only 4 RB's (Gore, Coffee, Robinson, and Norris)and 6 WR's? Now with Gore down for at least of couple of games, why not bring Sheets onto the active roster and waive Spurlock to make room for him? What do you think Coach Singletary meant when he said it wouldn't be fair to Sheets?

I thought Sheets should have made the roster originally based on his preseason play. I thought he was a real change of pace type RB compared to Gore and Coffee with true break away speed.
Thanks,
Jeff

Ike you post came across as if I was the one you were talking about. You replied to my comment and then in the next post said "you are exactly the person I was talking to" So I took offense to it. Sorry if that was not your intention.

I still think you were being hypocritical in saying if a person doesn't like what oneniner is saying they should leave and not argue or post that they want him banned or complain. I disagree if they want to post it or gang up on him. They are allowed. Its their right. That exists under the same right oneniner has under freedom of speech.

I really really dislike oneniner. I wish he was gone. I would love to have him banned. With that said he does have the right to say whatever he wants. But that does not afford him the free pass to do so here. That free pass is awarded by those that run this blog because it is their house.

I kinda look at it like this. Yes America has freedom of speech. But if you are in my house and say something that I dont like or try to inflame people in my house I will kick you out. You wont be arrested because anything you say is your right to say. But my house is my house and you will be banned from it if you do those things.

People here are in Matt's house. He has the right to say certain behavior will not be tolerated. He can ban a person because this is his blog and he doesnt like a persons actions OR for any reason. Those people have the right to say what they want because of freedom of speech but that freedom does not afford the right to do so anywhere you so please without the possibility to be asked to leave.

For example what do you think would happen if you went into a store and started yelling racial slurs.

You would be asked to leave. The owners of that store have that right to forbid you to come onto their property for any reason. Try to sue them for violation of freedom of speech and you will lose because they did not make you stop saying what you want but just removed the platform on which you choose to voice those words. The platform that they own.

That's what I think

I still think the best plan of action is just ignoring He who shall not be Named. If his words fall on deaf ears he qui If you notice people started to ignore him again and that is when he started his tyraid at the beginning of this blog and started getting attention again.

.....talk about someone with issues....

...wow....talk about someone having serious issues...

on your most recent post, I agree, ignore it, if no one plays along maybe the chimp gets bored and either leaves or adjusts behavior.

On your next most recent post, I, for one, do not read posts that are longer than a screen unless they come from Matt.

I did not ask you to read it, I posted it for Ike.

Also if its longer than a screen hold down ctrl then use your mouse button to scroll out

and there now it fits if you did it too far the type is to small to read but that's ok... ;) j/k

I know you hate long posts and you ignore those that are. No sweat off my back.

I personally read long posts because sometimes the people have a valid point they cant articulate in a short one.

I added Bruce and Coffee to my fantasy league!!!

I think they'll both get TD's on Sunday

Matt I know Crabtree must sign by Nov 17th in order to play this year but after the deadline passes and if he is not signed are the 49ers still able to sign him between Nov18th and the 2010 draft?I do believe he will get traded before the draft if he doesn't sign by Nov 17th just wondering

niners are back - we are on top of the WEST...

you make me wanna say ...la la la la la

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH0rCqfB94E .....:)

Go niners ...cant wait to see the sorry rams get crushed....

I wish Willis will punch the bags.....:)

Hahahahaa....
its the slizut from the Real World...

I bet she f'd both those dudes to get in the video

First off before you tell someone to take an English class, make sure your stuff is straight. (commited= committed; english= English) There are numerous grammatical errors in your insulting post.

Now if you want to get into an intellectual battle then you will have to bring more than a 12th grade education to the table because you consistently contradict yourself and show that you do not have the mental capacity to survive in the real world. You are still to stupid to understand my point. I have already smashed your theory and all you can do is come back with is insults. You come with hypothetical situations and try to state them as facts.

I never said you committed to the thought of pass only so what the hell are you talking about? You consistently miss the point, which is making me believe that you are not arrogant, just insane. You have contradicted yourself in every post to me and since you are calling me out, here you go:

You said: “You cant make calls based on a what if scenario or you will never run a play.”

“I never said we needed to pass instead. However if a "wide open" pass presented itself since the other team committed to an up the gut on the bootleg then yes we should've tried. Even if it meant an incomplete.” “A Bootleg does not mean Pass. It means the misdirect with a run up the middle and then Him scrambles with ball in hand away from the scrum." (WHAT???) “If the One safety that was left passed Morgan that would have left him WIDE OPEN" BLAH BLAH BLAH... I like to hear myself talk...

THOSE ARE ALL CONTRADICTIONS TO YOUR ORIGINAL STATEMENT! You are persistent and consistent… LOL

I am done toying with you now; it’s been fun but I have to get back to my real life and duties now! Feel free to drop me a line anytime… It may take me a while to respond because I have a life and can’t check for your post 24/7 like you do…

Question: I know Crabtree must sign by Nov 17th in order to play this year but after the deadline passes and if he is not signed are the 49ers still able to sign him between Nov18th and the 2010 draft?

My response: Yes, they can sign him at any time. But if signed after Nov. 17, it becomes a future contract and he can't play until the 2010 season. --Matt M.

According to ESPN, The 49ers and Crabtree have not spoke in over two weeks. Sounds to me like we should move on from Crabtree. Kind of a bummer. I was really excited when he was drafted. I wish it could have worked out. Now I'm curious to see the tampering charge play out. What do you make of the no contact as of late?

I hope Willis comes up with a signature move as well... hit the bags, funky chicken, The Ultimate Warrior power slam!!! SOmething!!!

You know what makes me jealous of pukeniner? This dude can make more comments than anyone who has commented on this Blog! The time this guy has to completely dominate and spend on the Blog is amazing to me! Everyday, spending 24/7 commenting!! He must have an easy and unobserved job! Or he is retired and just sits at the computer all day long!
I'm retired and don't have 1/10th the time this guy has to sit it front of my computer!
The guy is a neurotic obsessive/compulsive and bipolar individual! The more people comment to or about him leads to more of this kind of behavior! So the more people play into his psychiatric problems, the more his comments appear!
When commenting to and about him it will only lead to more comments by this psychotic individual!
By the way, I just might have figured out why he can spend 24/7 on the computer! He's in a psychiatric ward and has been given a computer to keep him away from the staff!

Not to drag out the subject, b/c I myself am taking Coach Sing's approach on this. But I was listening to Trent Dilfer on KNBR this morning, and he indicated that Crabtree is getting some "really bad advice" from people in his circle. I think that is a critical point because what kid coming straight out of college does NOT want to play in the NFL asap?

This whole thing stinks something ridiculous (*coughing* Deion!), and I hope this tampering investigation leads to some draft pick recovery, maybe a 1st rounder or a few late rounders for the Niners. My team don't deserve this crap.

On Crabtree:

I have said this before, the man does not want to play in a Jimmy Raye offense. It is not the first time a player has refused to play for a team which drafted him. Not many people remember it, but John Elway was drafted by the (then) Baltimore Colts. he flatly refused to sign with Baltomore and was ultimately traded to Denver. More recently, Eli Manning told San Diego before the draft that he did not want to play for them. The Chargers drafted him any way, and traded him for Rivers.

I think Crabtree never imagined he would drop to the Niners at No 10. Once drafted, he started looking at the Niners and decided that sitting out a year would be better for his career than being stuck in a run oriented Jimmy Raye offense for five years. It is a calculated move on his part.

I almost wish the Niners draft him again next year just to to screw up his plans. I know it would mean wasting another draft pick, but the the look on the faces of the Crabtree entourage in such a case would be priceless..

Dang, me thinks someone needs a nap.

I don't where you've been but Alex did get his shot(s) and davis is not ready. Next year's draft is at least 13 games away. Hill may not win a SB for us but he is winning games. Let's be realistic in our expectations--the 9ers are not SB ready this year. I'll be over-joyed with the NFC West.

I used to love Deion but now I hope he really pays the price. This whole thing just sucks... I was at the Draft party when we got him and the place went crazy. I don't wish bad things upon anyone but someone this greed is just out of control.

I've thought about that perspective as well, and started leaning that way too. But feel me on this one Rick, if that was the case, why did he show up to OTAs? Why did he even bother living in the Bay Area? Also, how does he know he won't get re-drafted by another "run-oriented team?"

That is where that logic gets screwed up. That is also why I think he does want to play for SF, but he is buying into the advice being given to him by outsiders (*coughing again* DEION!), and further guaranteeing he won't play for SF.

Darned good question and if Sheets isn't ready to play, why don't we have another experienced RB on the roster. Having just Coffee & two full backs on game day is rather tempting the football injury gods.

It's not like another injury to Gore wasn't likely. For whatever reason, he's not durable enough to be the workhorse RB with just one backup.

In my opinion.

I guess the main reason to keep Sheets on the practice squad is that an active B. Jones will help more.

Folks seem to want the most complicated reasons for Crabtree not signing when the most obvious reason is ignored.

Why does anyone in any walk of life and especially football, hold out? Answer: to get the other side to increase their offer.

It's worked so far for Parker, the Niners have upped their offer a lot since day 1. Why wouldn't he hold out for more?

No I think you're absolutely right, I'm not trying to over think it, it's certainly about the money. But I think some of it also has to do with the advice he's getting. You're 20 and coming out of college, you don't turn down $16 million without someone chirpin' "this, that and the third" at you.

My guess is that he asked Parker to handle it and Parker is.

Why employ an agent for millions of dollars if you don't keep out of his way and let him do his job? Crabtree knows nothing about negotiating NFL contracts and he knows he knows nothing.

I'm sure Parker asked him in the beginning whether he could handle the pressure of holding out for more money and Crabtree said yes, go get me the best contract you can and I'll keep out of your way and I'll keep my trap shut.

Touche. I see how that could be the case.

I think the label Singeltary should avoid is 'predictable.' As in- predictable offense to be more specific.
