The Seahawks will be without six big contributors. Left tackle Walter Jones, receiver Deion Branch, center Chris Spencer, linebacker Leroy Hill, cornerback Travis Fisher and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane are among Seattle's inactive players. Mike Teel is the third quarterback, and defensive tackle Michael Bennett is also on the inactive list.
Meanwhile, the 49ers do not have many injury concerns entering this game.
Here is their list of inactive players: Nate Davis (3rd QB), CB Marcus Hudson, S Curtis Taylor, LB Ahmad Brooks, C Cody Wallace, WR Brandon Jones, WR Jason Hill and DL Ricky Jean-Francois.
Jones is potentially a No. 3 receiver, but he has been out since Aug. 6 due to a broken right shoulder blade. He began practice last week but looked too rusty. He'll have a chance to get on the field next week against the Vikings.

The 49ers' win from last week looks even better today. The Cardinals are thumping the Jaguars. OK, so Jacksonville might not be all that great, but to travel to Florida and destroy them is a good win for the Cardinals.
* * *
FIRST QUARTER
--Four-man rush on third and 7, and Ray McDonald with the sack. Haralson pressured forced Hasselbeck to step up.
--Frank Gore stopped for 1-yard gain.
--Vernon Davis with 17-yard reception, most of it coming after the catch. First down.
--Isaac Bruce with nice play to play DB and break up what would've been a Ken Lucas interception on Hill pass down the field.
--Vernon Davis with a juggling pass to gain 15 on third down. The drive is alive at the
--Niners are pounding away at the
--Coffee stopped for 2-yard loss.
--Patrick Kerney sacks Hill on third and 9. It was Adam Snyder's man, but Hill's fault. He held the ball too long and stepped right into Kerney.
--Joe Nedney kicks 37-yard field goal to cap 13-play, 55-yard drive. It's 49ERS 3, SEAHAWKS 0 with 5:38 remaining in the quarter.
--On the 49ers' first series, when they went with three WRs, it was Arnaz Battle who entered the game. The 49ers used base personnel (RB, FB, TE and 2 WRs) on nine of 12 scrimmage plays.
--Third and 2 for the Seahawks . . . they have to burn a timeout because T.J. Houshmandzadeh was busy tying his shoe.
--Seneca Wallace enters at QB for a "Wildcat" type play, a handoff to Justin Forsett. It's a first down. Now, Hasselbeck is back.
--On third and 13, the Seahawks go with a draw play. The 49ers stop Forsett for 8 yards. They'll punt it away.
--Niners take over at their own 21 with 2:48 left in quarter.
--Frank Gore busted off a 79-yard TD run on the first play. He was watching the live action on the video screen at that end of the stadium, and he angled away from defenders behind him and dove into corner of end zone. It's 49ERS 10, SEAHAWKS 0 with 2:36 remaining. Gore has 103 yards rushing.
--Three and out for the Seahawks. The 49ers can turn this into a laugher.
--Seahawks injury report: LB Lofa Tatupu's return is questionable with a hamstring injury.
--Allen Rossum just returned the punt 75 yards for a touchdown. However, it's coming back. There's an illegal block in the back by Glen Coffee, and personal foul on Nate Clements.
--Tony Pashos enters at right tackle for the 49ers, but it's a three-and-out, as Hill is sacked (a coverage sack) on the final play of the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
--Seahawks are putting together a nice drive. But this is a big third down. It's third and 2 from SF 18 . . . Shawntae Spencer with terrific coverage on Houshmandzadeh on fade route.
--Olindo makes 36-yard FG. It's 49ERS 10, SEAHAWKS 3 at 10:04 of 2nd Q.
--Niners take over at the 20. Pashos is still in there at RT. Singletary planned to do this before the game. Don't think this classifies as a demotion for Snyder.
--Injury update:
--On third and 2, pitch to Gore for 13 yards. He's having a monster day.
--Seattle DE Lawrence Jackson with the sack. Guess whom he beat? That's right, RT Tony Pashos.
--It could've been a big gainer for 49ers, but Isaac Bruce with the drop.
--Niners must punt again. Andy Lee with great punt to pin the Seahawks at the 4-yard line with 6:20 left in half.
--FB Moran Norris with a 15-yard run. That's right, Moran Norris with a 15-yard run.
--Snyder is back at RT. Pashos checks in as a tight end for one play, an incomplete pass.
--Nedney on to attempt a 42-yard FG. He made it. 49ERS 13, SEAHAWKS 3 with 2:57 left in the quarter. It's a five-play, 18-yard scoring drive in 2:09.
--Completions of 13 and 15 yards to Nate Burleson and Deon Butler, followed by Justin Forsett's 14-yard run. Seahawks have ball at the SF 4 with :57 left.
--Matt Hasselbeck is hurt after hit from Patrick Willis at the goal line. That looks painful. Seneca Wallace will enter after timeout. It'll be third-and-goal from the 1.
--Wallace to Jones, and the Seahawks are within 3 points. Looks like that was Manny Lawson's responsibility. They're hanging around despite all the adversity. It's 49ERS 13, SEAHAWKS 10 with :22 left in the half.
--Eddie DeBartolo is honored at the half. He's first person inducted into the newly created 49ers Hall of Fame.
THIRD QUARTER
--Frank Gore might have just put this game away on the first play of the second half. Remember that 79-yard run in the first half that was his career-long? Well, he has a new career long. Gore had an 80-yard TD run. It's 49ERS 20, SEAHAWKS 10.
--Another Seahawks injury. CB Josh Wilson will not return.
--49ers going with the "Taser" on third and 5. . . . Micheal Spurlock does not run that offense very well. He fumbled the handoff to Gore (or was he trying to keep it?). Niners have to punt.
--Niners are backed up, with the ball at the 1-yard line with 7:31 left in third after great punt from Jon Ryan.
--Here's a note. Frank Gore joins Barry Sanders as only other player in NFL history with two runs of at least 79 yards in the same game.
--On third and 10 from the 1, Hill hits Moran Norris for 11 yards. Then, Hill scrambles out to the 29. They have some breathing room now.
--
--Spurlock with the Taser again. This time, he wildly overthrows a wide-open Vernon Davis. The 49ers should scrap the Taser . . . or at least have Robinson as the man running it.
--Seahawks take over at their own 47 with 2:30 left in the third after nice return from Burleson.
--Nate Clements is called for pass interference. It was close on Houshmandzadeh. He got there just a split-second too early. Seahawks ball at the 49ers' 35.
--Max Unger, the man the 49ers would have drafted in the second round had they not traded their pick to
--Goldson with the interception on rebound after nice play from Clements vs. Burleson. That was Goldson's first career pick, and the first from a 49ers free safety in more than two full seasons.
FOURTH QUARTER
--Shaun Hill hits Isaac Bruce for two third-down passes to keep the drive alive and keep the clock ticking.
--Niners are chewing a lot of clock with the short-passing game. Passes to Gore, Bruce and Norris . . . they have a third-and-2 coming up.
--Hill hits Delanie Walker for the first down . . . but center Eric Heitmann is called for holding. That wiped out a 20-yard pass.
--Gore catches pass short of the sticks, but there's a facemask penalty that will tack on 15 yards.
--Pashos with the holding penalty on a sweep to Gore that moves it back to the 30.
--Niners call a timeout before a third-and-10 play from the
--Injury update: 49ers RB Glen Coffee has a right hip pointer. His return is questionable.
--RB Frank Gore (right ankle sprain) is questionable to return. His day might be over.
--RB Michael Robinson is in the game on this third-down play in place of Gore, who limped off after last play. Incomplete to
--Nedney with 39-yard FG attempt. It's good. That makes it 49ERS 23, SEAHAWKS 10 with 6:53 remaining
And I'm going to start heading down to the field.

Hill inactive again....sad
Compared to last week, S Smith plays while CB Hudson sits. Do you know the reason for this change?
also, Zona looks good, in a wierd way thats good for us... makes us look good
Wow, no J. Hill again. I wonder why? He really showed good chemistry with S. Hill last year.
are they trying to ruin j hill here or something? This is going to get ugly pretty soon, maybe this is punishment for him speaking out during the preseason, but they're wrecking this dude's career if they are going to keep putting him on the inactive like this.
FRANK GORE in the house!!!!
Way to go Frank Gore! Looked like he was faster too!
Got your GPS right here...
I'll be the first to say it: Rossum is done. He's got to go. Nothing left.
Team looks ok, leaving Jason Hill inactive again is a disgrace.
MATT? Can you ask Coach Sing about this?
Frank ....... GOOOOOORRRRREEEE!!!!!!!
Twice the Pleasure! Way to go Gore!
Frank Gore with a career day! WOOT!
Wow!!! Gore again. Not bad for an average back (sarcasm).
Sean Hill sucks. This team would be a superbowl contender with a QB who could do something. Let's see Alex or Nate now! And where the hell is Jason Hill????
Whenever Hill gets stuck in a jam, he has no ability to improvise. He gets sacked too easily. That, plus weak arm means this guy should NOT be our QB. As little faith as I have in Smith, there's so much more you can do with your offense with him in there. I'll take a few mistakes. It's not like Sean Hill doesn't fumble.
Battle could run the Taser as well....
I say deactivate spurlock, and lets see some J. Hill!
seriously, battle played qb in college, of course i'm a little bit biased about j hill but c'mon MAN! dropping teh "taser" hand off, missing wide open davis... you had your chance now sit on the bench.
Jimmy Raye , your taser has a short in it. Not on 3rd and long when we need 1st downs.
It's the 4th quarter and the only WR to catch a pass is Bruce?
Get Pashos a new number. It looks like Kwame's back again. The numbers now cursed.
Is this rope-a-dope II ? Run, run, wildcat, run, run, wildcat, then in 4th when the D is sucking air you make em run by throwing down field. Use to be you got a lead then ran out the clock on the ground. Is Jimmy Ray this smart??
Woohooo! Another win and a Carolina loss. One Five we don't need you. Your offer is declining every day.
Michael Crabtree's feeling a panic attack coming on in 3, 2, 1...
How do you like us now? Where are all the Eeyore actors? If theres people running around the city saying #@ck Michael Singletary, what do we do with pieces of *#it like that? They are #@ckin dogs right? Congratulations to the Coach, players and staff. It feels good to be on top of the west. Victory IS almost as sweet as Mariah Careys' kitty. Next week will be a League GPS game.
AND... an honorable mention to the CAROLINA PANTHERS ... that draft day trade looks genius right about now!
GO NINERS !!!
Niners are 2-0! Start supporting your team or go root for someone else!
Why isn't Battle or Robinson running the "Taser"? Both very good college QBs. Let's shelve that offense until we play the Rams or another bad team to practice it.
whoa
I liked Billick as an announcer. Too bad we can't have him every Sunday.
Yeah! 2-0 Baybay!
Has Robinson ever thrown a pass for the 49ers? When they drafted him, I thought they would/could get so creative with him. Still time.... Cmon Niners, use his skills! 2-0 in the west. Large and in Charge!!!!
GPS-top of the west in week two-next week big test.Love my team!
Very strong performance today. I feel so happy. My prediction of minimum an 8-8 season is looking good. I don't care if Shaun Hill is looking pretty or not. We are winning!
Again, the critical stats:
1. No turnovers
2. Time of possesion battle won
3. Of course the running game. ie Frank Gore's performance
4. Defense showed up again big time
5. Played physical with a HUGE "F"
We are taking the opportunities so far to win and we are putting ourselves in a position to win at all times. This is how football is played now days.
Let's go and make a strong statement against the vikings. I saw them today against Detroit and we can win. Detroit was moving the ball most of the game until the rookie Stafford started to play like a rookie throwing interceptions... but they could run the ball to them and they could stop them defensively. I think the 49ers are a much better team than the Lions even we will be playing on the road...
Lots of good insightful comments today by Brian B. Good to have an offensive mind comment on the Niners offense.
I agree wish he did all the Niners Games
Yes lots of KUDOs for Gore......but 't forget a Niners Defense that has shown up two weeks in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, Hill is not playing pretty and the numbers are not spectacular, but now he is 9-3 as a starter and 6-0 at Candlestick.
Those are pretty numbers to me...
We are 2 and 0, and we have momentum and confidence. Would you rather be listening to Mike Nolan make excuses in post game press conferences or take the warts that come with a new OC? Who called the two TD's that Frank broke off?
I love the secondary play and the tackling is crisp. I guess that tough camp Coach Sing ran paid off.
We are more than respectable already...
We are on top.
Yes lots of KUDOs for Gore......but 't forget a Niners Defense that has shown up two weeks in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is everyone screaming about J. Hill?
He is behind Bruce and Morgan - and Jones when he returns and Crabtree when (not if) he signs.
Cut Rossum and promote Sheets.
Solid performance today...I think we learned a couple things today...9ers defense and philosophy as whole looks solid...Cardinals do look good and will be biggest competition for the West title but furthers the argument for how good the defense looks...Seattle if healthy could be a contender but they definitely seem old and fragile and in need of a new LT and future franchise QB...and finally, as long as we stay healthy our season just might make it past December..2-0 sure does feel good...Go Niners!!
Jason Hill is IRRELEVANT! SHAUN HILL IS THE MAN! ALL this guy does is WIN. Another great job by Shaun Hill of moving the chains, controlling the clock, and the whole offense for not turning it over. They will need some plays from Hill next week at Minnesota to win because of the DT's Williams, but Shaun Hill is the best QB on this roster by far. Nate Davis is the FUTURE and Alex Smith should be cut for other opportunities. 2-0 and a LEGIT 2-0!
The 9ers deserve credit for playing pretty well today, but this wasn't a game to truly take their measure - a 'GPS game', as Matt would put it. Seattle started the game with 3 starting OL and 2 starting LBs out with injuries, then lost their starting QB pretty early in the game, and then later one of their CBs - while all the 9er starters were healthy. This is a game the 9ers should have won easily.
Next week will be a better test.
Ever since Matt coined the phrase, I think the Niners have lost every single "GPS" game...until now. So what does that make the Vikings game?
Our defense in the key to both of the victories. Yes, Frank Gore was a monster today. The offensive line played a lot better than last week. That right tackle spot is going to haunt us this year. Mike Oher would be unreal over there.
Our D is amazing. We're giving up 50 yards a game average. We get the other team off the field on 3rd down now. Patrick Willis is Quarterbacking a monster on D! I lost count of all the 3 and outs we had today. Nate Clements had an awesome game today. The decision to sign Spencer was genius. Dre Bly is on fire as the nickel.
Our philosophy is simple, " WE HIT PEOPLE IN THE MOUTH!!!" GO NINERS!!!
I'm sorry, I meant to say that the decision to start Shante Spencer was genius!! Go Niners!!!
Get Gore to the 2nd layer, and there's a chance he's gone. Great job by the O-Line, especially in run blocking. The DBs played very well, especially Nate. Great tackling by Lewis and Roman. And Bly was around the ball, as always. Goldson made plays. Spencer is reliable and so technically sound. Pass rush was just a little bit behind. Great play early on by McDonald. 2-0 in division. Hope Frank's okay, but feeling great about the season so far!
You guys need to quit cryin about jason hill. last year is last year. this year on the depth charts he didnt do enough to keep his spot. nuff said. how about we spend the energy celebrating the win instead of giving everyone else more reasons to call us whiners for god sakes.
and allen bein done?? are you kidding me? he would have had a TD if it wasnt for the block in the back by coffee. Some of you guys amaze me. too quick to give up on our players. please go become raider fans because you are far from faithfuls.
Nice job by the 49ers to go 2-0.
The team plays smash mouth football and wins. It's nice to win and it's nice to follow the away victory over the conference champs with this one. Credit to the players and coaches.
Someone earlier posted it's time to get rid of Smith. No one thought Hill was worthy of being #1 than me, but when Seattle lost their QB, my first thought was Smith is going to have to be ready if Hill goes down.
I want Smith to be good and to be ready to go if we need him. Just because he has a few annoying fans here doesn't mean the 49ers don't need him to be ready - just in case. I hope Singletary (or someone) lets AS know that he's still a valued member of this team.
I predicted 9-7 and I'll stand by that.
I wish I could "like" your comment...Amen, brotha!
I'm remembering many here dumping on Clements a couple of weeks ago calling for his dismassal or move to safety....how wrong you were....what a stud he is.
I'd still like to see what he could do a FS someday. i think he would be just as good if not better hawkin them balls.
I think a lot of people were worried about his game playin during the preseason. including my self. im glad he turn it around tho.
Rick,
I too was one of those thinking Clements should be moved to Safety to make the team better. You are right, he has been outstanding in the 1st Games at Corner. No one has really tested him deep yet but I'm sure that will come up. I'm excited to see how he does against the Vikings and against the Falcons especially with a true #1 in White. He has been proving me and others wrong though and I'M GLAD!
It was great, not just to win, but to get ahead early and look like we deserved to win. I was hoping the offense could put together a drive that would eat up the clock and take the game out of reach, and they did that after Goldson's interception.
While Seattle had several injuries and were not at their best, the Niners were still able to make a pretty good statement that the offense is capable. And, we can see the defense is very tough.
If the ankle doesn't slow Gore down, the Niners have a good chance against the Vikes.
LOL - Welcome to the big leagues:
"It was just a matter of Frank Gore being Frank Gore," Seahawks rookie linebacker Aaron Curry said. "It's just as simple as that. They gave the right man the ball. He's one of those guys, he's going to have your attention. It's not hard to find him. He runs hard. You can sometimes hear him grunt as he runs."
Steve & JV,
sorry if my message was 'toned' improperly. He was looking weak in preseason. I know it's not simple to merely turn it on when going from practise to the real thing (ask the Cards). I am a fan of Nate and can see that he'll make the move to safety some day (ala Lott), just not yet. As for tests, I think he passed vs Fitz last week and Housh this.
It was a good time at the park today.
There is faith and there is blind faith.
Rossum's TD return was more due to the play call and the set up from running the reverse last week. Rossum sis not need to make and extrodinary moves. That being said, he is old and one dimensional. Spurlock and/or Sheets can handle returns and open a spot for a more versatile player.
BAAAAHAAA, Jerry's party got spoiled with a last second field goal.
