***UPDATE (1:24 p.m.): It's official. The 49ers did not make any trades today. The trade deadline was 24 minutes ago. The NFL trade period re-opens in March 2010.***
* * *
There's about 45 minutes to go before the window closes on NFL trades until March. And there's nothing to suggest the 49ers will be making a deal.
But that does not mean they did not try - or weren't at least open to the possibility to adding a player they believe can help.
I heard from a league source last night that the 49ers were in discussions with at least one team about a trade. Sorry for the tease, but I have no idea which player(s) they considered. Whatever was being discussed, it looks as if it won't be happening. It seems as if those deadline talks hit a dead end.
The 49ers have pulled the trigger on just one trade-deadline deal since Scot McCloughan arrived on the scene in 2005 - and that was as a seller. That year, the 49ers dealt backup quarterback Tim Rattay to the Buccaneers for a sixth-round draft pick.
The 49ers discussed a trade with the Bills for cornerback Nate Clements in 2006. That trade went nowhere, but the 49ers signed Clements on the first day of free agency in 2007. And in 2007, the 49ers had Bears talked about a deal that would send linebacker Lance Briggs to
If the 49ers wanted to pull off a blockbuster, this would be the hour to do it. After all, the 49ers have two first-round picks in the 2010 draft. Based on the current standings, the 49ers would be picking anywhere from 18th to 23rd, while their other pick (formerly belonging to the Panthers) would be from 11th to 13th.

A couple points about my report yesterday in which coach Mike Singletary said there's a "strong possibility" Michael Crabtree will be in the starting lineup Sunday:
--If Josh Morgan is OK with it, then Singletary does not have to worry about the reaction in the locker room. If the team wants to win, and Crabtree can help them, there is going to be no backlash. Morgan is the only one who loses something in this. And if he's cool enough to help Crabtree learn the position, then the 49ers have already cleared the biggest obstacle.
***I had one other thought about what this move would tell the rest of the team: Singletary wants to get his best players on the field, thus giving the team its best chance to win games.***
--Crabtree does not have to learn the entire playbook before this game. All he has to do is learn the plays coordinator Jimmy Raye has included in this week's game plan against the Texans.
* * *
Before the 49ers' season opener, I asked Raye some questions about how he approaches his game plan:
How many plays do you include in the game plan?
Raye: "We have enough offense to take care of the contingencies, and each week is different based on the style of defense that we play, so the play number basically slides.
"You have a certain number of run down plays, first and 10, first- and second-down plays and then we have our third-down package. Then we have red zone and we try to pull as much as we can in similarity from the run down to the throw down to cut the volume, and then we have the red area plays that is designed specifically for defensive coverage in the red area. Then we have your short yardage, your goal line, your two-minute.
"The plays vary in terms of numbers based on the style of defense that you're playing. Based on how we continue to accentuate our players and what they do best, but I couldn't give you a concrete number of how many plays we would have in the plan. It basically would depend on, if you figure average, you're going to get 70 to 72 snaps a game during a normal game and how many of those in 11 possessions based on the kickoff and the first half you are going to get 11 to 12 possessions most of the time without a sudden change. So all of that is calculated in, but basically it's by design of what they do defensively that marries what we want to do offensively, and hopefully some of that will slide from one area to the other area."
On whether he has always scripted his first plays:
Raye: "I've done it for as long as I've been coaching. I think Bill Walsh probably started it. I've coached with enough people that coached with him over the years that somewhere it became a part of what I started to do as a coordinator."
On what his philosophy is game planning his offense against other teams:
Raye: "The generic answer would be, first of all, do what we need do best and what our people can do best. Then the development of that, we will try to exploit the weaknesses that we have that takes advantage of what we do, so it's a twofold deal. We are always going to have a core group of things that we do that you have to stop because obviously we have been running it in practice and a lot longer than you have on Wednesday and Thursday, so you have to show us you can stop that and then we hope that the rest of what we do will take care of the weaknesses that they have, and give us a chance to exploit the weakness that they have and take advantage of them if we can."
* * *

"If Josh Morgan is OK with it, then Singletary does not have to worry about the reaction in the locker room. If the team wants to win, and Crabtree can help them, there is going to be no backlash"
I disagree -
If we lose - and Crabtree makes no impact - you can be sure there would be talk amongs the players...
and i bet J.Hill is not happy.....win or lose
Then Maybe J.Hill should step his game up and move up on the roster. Hill has no one to blame but himself for his down grade in performance.
If he doesn't play well, there is no NFL rule restricting Morgan from going back in. A NFL locker room is no different than your job, whatever decision the boss makes somebody’s going to gripe. I like Coach Raye more and more everyday. He knows the game and is not an "every offensive series is a novella and further testament to my offensive genius" guy (see Weis, Charlie). They need to do a better job of getting things blocked, and it appears the coaches are working on that.
Agreed. All the J. Hill love has to go.
The future is Morgan and Crabtree with a little Jones. Battle and Bruce are gone at the end of the year.
Downgrade in performance? Ummm it's kind of difficult to "step his game up" when he's not getting a chance to get on the field. Jason Hill has never played himself down the depth chart. He has made the most out of every oppurtunity he has had. Sure he's dealt with a good amount of injuries, but saying his lack of playing time is based off his performance is severely inaccurate.
On another note, is anyone surprised that there are no deals at the deadline? Up until a few years ago, trades during any point of the season were basically unheard of. The Braylon Edwards trade this season is the only "big" deal that even comes to mind. I really can't recall any other significant trades. Maybe someone can help me out here...
So far, there has been zero indications from Samurai Singletary that he chooses lightly who is playing and who is not. So based on history, all there is to do is trust that he sees this as the right move for whatever reasons he sees. Regarding the locker room mood, I would think most players would feel some empathy with Crabtree on the holdout because all of them are playing for money and all of them know for sure there is a business side to it. And they know Samurai chooses responsively who plays and who doesn't. So I am pretty sure all will be well.
Of course, in Oneniner world nothing will be well untill Shaun Hill is erased from history books and Alex Smith is inscribed as the Conqueror of Europe in the 16th Century as well as the inventor of electricity, the airplane AND the internet (which he, Oneniner, uses freely for the entertainment of his fellow human beings).
SB
For entertainment purposes only!
Michael Crabtree surpasses DHB in total catches?
Yes -155
No -110
Michael Crabtree scores?
No -130
Yes -110
I'd like to parlay the Yes and Yes for $100 por favor.
In all fairness Oneniner doesn't wish S. Hill didnt have a job, He just wishes that job was as a member of the Chargers game-day staff in the press box.
...... What............Too soon?
Is this over the course of the next game, the rest of the season, or the rest of their respective careers?
Sunday in Houston
Oh is that right?? Where you at training camp at all?? cause i was. And Dude was dropping balls left and right On top of being always injured!! I got nothing but love for the guy but im also not blinded by his passed success. He was not producing on the Practice field which is why he is down on the depth charts. its simple. the niners wouldnt have him so low for no damn reason! I witness with my own eyes Spurlock out perform him.
Can we please end this whole Jason Hill thing now? The guy is where hes at for a reason. If he wants to be put in the mix again then he needs to show it out there on that field threw out the week! End of story!!
Official word from matt on tweeter....
Official word from 49ers: No trades today. NFL trade period re-opens in March 2010
Man'O Man I was hopeing they'd pick up an offensive lineman worth a damn, I dont know how S.Hill has stayed healthy this long. O'line needs to be top pioroty this offseason, we need three new starters next year on the line.
BTW. Why do I have to sign in so much when I use the same CPU everyday?? They treat this like its a bank website our something.
Good Grief.
Unless another play maker drops in our lap we need to go O-line with the first pick. maybe even the second pick as well lol.
Are you sure there is no conspiracy to ruin J. Hill's career? Me either, if he ran better routes, blocked better and caught the ball better than Bruce or Morgan he would be starting. It is obvious they aren't shy about making a switch. This is NOT an Al Davis/Marcus Allen situ.
Hey Matt, this actually should have been a BYE week question, how are Niners positioned financially to add two or three key high dollars players in the "uncapped" year?
Too Sweet - there is always one "big" trade each year. Last year it was the Cowboys giving up two number 1's for Roy Williams from the Lions. Braylon should/could work out, I still don't see the value in that Roy Williams trade. He's a totally overrated player to this point in his career.
I am happy Crabtree is starting but I am also realistic. I am not loking for a 2 TD 150 yard game this week. I am going to watch him mainly to see how he runs patterns, his body language, does he appear tentative going over he middle, can he get yards after the catch etc. The actual numbers are less important this week.
It should not take us long to figure out if we have a future Jerry Rice or, god forbid, a future J.J. Stokes.
I wont say who I think we should draft until I see what FA's are available and who we pick up. How much spending cash we have to get FA's etc.
Oneniner, I follow your line of thinking but I also agree with rulercipherdivineobnfv;pwiuobfrvpiuowtr.
If Morgan steps aside for Crabtree to move into the starting lineup and Crabtree does not perform, it will be Morgan's responsibility to be ready to step back in.
I deeply respect Morgan's class in this situation. He did not whine or complain about his job being "taken". He understands where he fits into this team's future plans and walking away from this situation with his head held high will be rememberd by us fans and the organization when he is being worked into a starting role alongside Crabtree next year. Also, he probably realizes he hasn't quite lived up to many of our expectations so far this season and is willingly stepping aside for a guy who has a legitimate chance to come in and make things happen. If that last part is the case, I respect him even more.
Let's be realistic about Jason Hill. Super talented, super athletic receivers who produced big numbers in college come into the NFL all the time and simply do not cut it. The 49ers coaching staff knows more about NFL talent than any of us. If Jason Hill were as good as he is made out to be in discussion boards and blog comment sections, he would have risen to the top of the 49ers below average depth chart a long time ago. I wonder why Jerry Sullivan is reputed to be such a good receivers coach when he has been with the 49ers for years, and the receivers never produce. Yes, that is a straight-up call out.
As for Smith, I honestly thought Smith outperformed Hill in the preseason action I saw. At times I felt that he clearly outperformed Hill. Hill had a lot of factors in his favor. Smith did not knock him out so the decision went to Hill. I think we need to see Smith in a game at some point this year. I think we will.
In addition, we need a combination of things to happen. We need Singletary to go out on a limb and allow the offense to open up ... and the offensive personnel need to respond.
I second that....
I do want Mays or Berry though....
If not let's get some OL that can block someone
Jason Hill
Whoa! You were at training camp Nasty Steve?!
You must know everything.
Did you watch Hill's performance in a GAME situation last year? He did quite well, not only catching balls, but making some impressive sideline grabs as well.
Hill also is the fastest wide receiver on the team, much faster than Bruce.
Open your eyes!
I was not happy when they resigned Bruce....
I would rather have seen what Crabs/Morgan/Jones/Hill could do this season
2 30 317 10.6
2008 stats. TWO games started, not too bad. Better than Bruce this year
Oneniner,
Can we get Bruce added to your list that has Hill on it? How about Chilo?
There's a "remember me" box to check that'll keep you signed in until you sign out. As far as the JHill stuff, he was practicing well either. Go back and read the blog, it's really interesting about Hill's frustration (I'm not being snarky, I thought it spoke a lot about Hill's professionallism). Sing talked to him and told him to step it up in practice and he did. The next week he was active. He was a little bitter no one told him the expectations earlier, but he got it done. Sucks that he is now the 5th WR on a team that uses 3 rarely. Could use another RB though, just saying
Anytime was too soon for that line . . . jeez.
They didn't resign Bruce he had one year left on his contract and decided to return. You don't cut your leading receiver from the year before if he wants to come back.
However, I agree. I wish he had retired.
Your the man, Thsnks!! All is well
nah - just S.Hill
he better comes through next sunday - or i am putting up a "S.Hill Sucks" billboard next week in San fra...
you know whts funny...
the same guys bashing crabtree - about his contract holdout - calling him a spoiled brat
don't seem to think he his been treated like a spoiled brat in this case....
it amazes me over and over the how short brained most sports fans are...
sum niner fans are very queer (no homo).....
I cant believe this Jason Hill talk. How can anyone say this guy hasnt stepped up. all he can do is play well when he is in there and he does. and he had good chemistry with S Hill when he played with him. i just feel bad for the guy. he was a 3rd rd pick that is being completely wasted. this sucks.
but no one can say he doesnt step up..all he does is play well. this is a mystery...
we blew it by playing bruce one year too long with all these young guys rotting away
i'm more worried about our defense. for the defense to give up 45 points is insane! i know they'll pull through because EVERYTHING from last week was a fluke, and we all know it! we're 3-2 and and hope to get to 4-2. jimmy raye better pick up his playcalling because i only see about 8-10 plays that he calls. how vanilla and bland can that be??
the OL also has to protect the qb. i don't what qb is under center. if the OL can't do it, even if you're peyton manning, you're going to go down hard.
oneniner - if shaun hill doesn't come through on sunday, please really REALLY put up a billboard up, because i would love to see it! better yet, if the defense give up another 45 points, do that too!
Morgan seems like class act here. He'll back as a starter next year when Bruce and Battle are gone.
Matt
Thanks for asking Jimmy Raye those questions but what the heck did he say? He should run for office, lots of words that say nothing at all.
Bill49er
I'm asking a favor of you guys! I've been a part of Matt's Blog for months now and I know some of you don't like my comments and some put up with me.
But I ask this favor. My wife has heard very upsetting news that affects her health. I'm asking you guys for prayers and thoughts at this time!
I know some may take offense to my asking on the Blog, but I consider Matt's blog as an important part of my life. And I consider all here as part of the 49er family.
So as part of my family, could you just take a second to say a few words to the Lord or a thought for our help at this time!
My wife and I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks guys!
I'm in.
Bill49er
You got it.
Terry, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!!
Go NINERS!!
Terry: Of course there is no offense taken. I too think of you and everyone here as family. It's moments like these that remind us that passionately as we follow football, in the larger scheme of things it is just a game.
You and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers. May God (He, She, or It) grant you strength to cope with this roadblock in life.
Sorry to hear about your situation Terry. My wife and I will certainly pray for you, your wife and family .
God bless !
www.christiananswers.net
are we sure j. raye doesnt script the whole game? everyone knows what their going to do. run up the middle, run up the middle, short pass over the middle, and punt.
Best Wishes T-Dog, Wish your family and every family on the here, the best of health and fortune(even top_cat =)
Grow up Hockey boy.
Sure thing.
Terry,
I'm an avowed atheist, but I will pray for your wife and family in my own way. Hang in there.
DONE!!
It was a little longer than a second....I appreciate you asking!
Prayer is powerful!
Best wishes and stay positive.
I hope everything works out for the best buddy =)
I agree this Blog is like a extended family... we high five, discuss minute details, fight like brothers/sisters but come back everyday for more!!!
My GF can't believe I sit here and go over every single posting... sometimes getting pissed or laughing out loud.
Btw... Oneniner... this was pretty DAMN funny!!!
"nah - just S.Hill
he better comes through next sunday - or i am putting up a "S.Hill Sucks" billboard next week in San fran..."
I wonder if A.Smith and Crabtree might have a better on field chemistry because of the bye week practice. I think if the offense continues to sputter we need to tap Alex on the sholder after the Indy game.
Ruler,
For the season, Darrius Heyward Bey has one more name that he has receptions.
-- imaginary friend
Terry,
I am sorry to here you and your wife receiveed some bad news concerning her health. I take it as a priveledge to pray for someone and I think it is awesome that you asked for prayer. I am a born-again christian. I am not trying to preach to you (or anyone else) but I must say that Jesus has heard my prayers. One of Jesus' names/titles is "The Great Physician". I think in times like this it is good to remember things like that and hopefully you may find some comfort in his word (The Bible). Take care.
My prayers are with you and your wife brotha'. Are you guys also seeking any alternative medicine? Here is a link for a healer that has cured cancer and aids, (he won a New York Supreme Court case to prove his claim). He also has an office in Los Angeles. I hope it helps, but you have my prayers in the mean time.
(EDITED: If Terry wants the link, I'll send it on to him. --MM)
Hi Matt, Morgan shows class and knows if he produces he can't be left off the field. Have to think top management made the decision to put Crabtree in the starting lineup. Mcloughlin is slow on the trigger and as much as I like Staley I'd take Mayo in a heartbeat. He never could get out of Nolans' shadow and Coach Singletary is a presence that can't be denied. They can't let Houston play pitch and catch. Shaub is a different QB when he is pressured
I am glad to see they have decided to start Crabs. It only shows that if that is their decision than he must be doing something right. I think once A. Smith takes over for S. Hill the offense will be like night and day in a good way. Keep in mind by the time that happens (2-3 weeks from now) the o-line will have some chemistry together. The future looks bright.
Matt, is there anyway u can ask Singletary, why not use crabtree, morgan, hill, and jones together or in any combination. This would put so much pressure on opposing defenses. Open up Gore's running lanes and put less pressure on the offensive line. Also, davis would be another weapon. How can any defense stop a line up like this????
Pierre99 - They would wait a week. I would be surprised if they threw Alex to the Wolves of Indy on the road for his first start in two years. That's a bad move. I think they would wait a week if it came to that.
Terry - Your family is in all of our thoughts. Hang in there my man and think positive thoughts.
Terry, God bless you, your wife and family. The Lord Jesus Christ will take care of your wife!!!
Coach Sing on KNBR today answered a lot of our questions:
Asked about why Crabtree starting happen quicker than expected: This kid comes in great shape, he has been studying his tail off, and once he sat down with Jimmy Rae and Jerry Sullivan they started looking at a small sub package to feed him slowly. But Crabtree wouldn’t have any of it. He was overly eager to learn more and wanted to get the entire kitchen sink up front. He didn't want to be eased into the playbook, he was ready to study, ready to stay during the bye week, and he asked Alex to stay with him to throw him passes during the bye week etc.
Then Mike got into what he saw from Crabtree Physically - We put him out on the practice field and he immediately jumped out at you. He knew right away Crabtree was special. You could just see it the minute he was on the field. Asked how the locker room would react: When everyone sees this kid on the field you knew he had to play. They knew he had to play. This guy already has the team saying “We want him on the field”. Players and coaches all said “This guy has to get on the field”. On Bruce over Morgan: We are going to get in the game and let them play and see what happens. The way they play will dictate how much they play. We still look at Morgan as a starter.
After a Coach Sing training camp, how on earth does Kory Sheets show up in Miami out of shape? This one baffles me:
Inside the locker room his teammates kept asking him if he was tired.
"The man was unbuckling his chin strap and taking off his helmet before he even finished his run," linebacker Channing Crowder joked.
Crowder then advised Sheets, who is 5-foot-11, 208 pounds, and ran a 4.47 40-time at the NFL combine, to keep his body hydrated.
"It's hot in San Fran, but it's not humid. I'd been on the practice squad and we really only work for three days on the field. We really don't do too much running, so you can get out of shake real fast on the practice squad," Sheets said. "Unfortunately I got out of playing shape."
Any news on who is going to do the kick returns? Is Walker or Spurlock going to take over?
hey matt when is alex going to put in? cant take much more of hill. crabtree starting isnt going to change much with a garbage qb in. i would rather see nate put in but i know prob not this year.
No you are not the only one.
The problem is that there's way too many bloggers, columnists, beat writers, websites & TV channels all competing desperately for our attention.
That's why the Crabtree "holdout" has attracted so much more attention than it deserved and why there's been so much idle chitchat about mid season trades that will put teams "over the top".
There's been very few mid-season trades in the past and of those, none have made any significant short term impact.
This ain't MLB.
....Good luck to Wife .....hope she gets better
THANK YOU GUYS! It's GREAT to be a part of this family!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM MY WIFE and I!
I NEVER KNEW how close all of us really are!!
THANKS AGAIN!
"Oh is that right?? Where you at training camp at all?? cause i was. And Dude (Jason) was dropping balls left and right." (NastySteve)
Maybe you were watching the wrong # jersey. Or you forgot your glasses at home. I didn't see too many balls hit the ground in TC. How many practices did you attend? I was at all of them (minus one). And there were only 4 YOU could go to. I went to 4 (including a VIP one for our BC group).
I agree with Top Sweet's reply to your comment about his dropping balls--but that he didn't get to play much. I've watched him in more than one TC, so I KNOW he's got great hands. What I don't know is the political shenanigans that go behind the scenes.
**********
"Hill also is the fastest wide receiver on the team, much faster than Bruce." (GoatFather)
Bruce is the one who is dropping most of his balls! I think you are one mixed up dude. I like to see HIM get a REST--and put in Brandon Jones or Jason Hill.
I just wish that Raye and Singletary would stop telecasting which types of routes that Crabtree will be playing this Sunday. I find it preposterous that they keep saying that Michael will be in the slot for several plays. The guy will be knocked out before his NFL career even begins--by those defenders who know in what part of the field he will be playing. I can't believe the coaches are talking like that! I sure HOPE it's to disguise what routes Mike will be running.
Niner MOM
"This ain't MLB".
Figured that one out on your own did you? You must have gotten the book I suggested you buy. LOL
Crabtree starting? Great!! Who's going to get the ball to him?
You have my prayers also!
It is time to pay quality attention. Vernon Davis is the fastest human on the 49ers according to all game commentators; this means he's probably a hell-of-lot faster than Crabtree. Davis has been Hill's favorite target. If you review the films, Hill's passes to him have with only several exceptions been perfectly thrown. This has included some three relatively long TD passes.
Matt,
Can I have the link that highpriest333 was going to send to terry? I am very interested in the alternative healing stuff.
I would like that website if you can get it to me. I can give you my email address if matt will allow me to do that on here.
A case can be made that the brass are better talent analysts than we fans who want J.Hill and Jones on the field, but paradoxically,to make that case is to say the brass are such weak talent appraisers that they wasted a 3rd round pick on Hill and elephant bucks on Jones.
terry,
prayers for you and your wife. take care man!
If Morgan weren't ok w/Crabtree taking the "X" position, he wouldn't have been practicing with him. He understands he and Crabtree are the going to be the playmakers at WR. The sooner Michael gets on the field, the sooner he can produce. It's all about the team...which guys give them the best chance to win. Singletary has been consistent about that since he took over. Much ado about nothing.
I gave two different links one a dietary herbal healer, one an energy healer. Let me know if Matt doesn't give them to you and we can figure out something.
It's too bad we didn't trade Alex Smith for an undrafted rookie free agent to be named later, even an extra water boy would have been nice. We should have at the very least picked up a parking lot attendant for Marc Roman. Mabey next yr...
I believe Brandon Jones is fastest WR on the team. And the second highest paid receiver behind Crabtree. I hope he pays off as an investment and player.
http://www.knbr.com/common/global_audio/201/13464.mp3
Thank you, Mike, for listening to that interview! "The quarterbacks are excited (to see how good Crabtree plays). The other receivers are excited. Competition will make them better. Iron sharpens iron." If Crabtree can electrify this offense, that's exciting!
Like taking a new car for a spin it will be fun to see whats under the hood. My prayers go out to your family Terry.
Terry, hoping the best for your wife and family. Stay positive.
Terry,
Good luck. My best wishes and prayers are with you and your wife.
Terry asked for thoughts and prayers, not medical advice. I'm sure Terry has qualified doctors treating his wife and didn't feel the need to turn to a sports blog for a cure.
Terry, the good Lord will provide, just put your trust in him that he will do what is best. We shall keep you and your wife in our daily prayers. Take care niner fan
Best of luck to you and your wife, Terry. Things will turn out OK as long as you are by her side.
As for Crabtree starting, the O definitely needs a kick start. Hope Raye throws in some quick slants. I miss the old days when JR turns a quick slant into and 80-yarder.
Houston ~ why are you so against someone offering medical advice to someone in need? Sometimes thoughts and prayers aren't enough and medical attention is needed. God, I'd hate to be one of your children. If your child was diagnosed (God forbid) with an illness would you turn down medical advice/help and tell the doctor "no thanks, I appreciate your recomendation on the medication I should be taking, but I think I'll only use thoughts and prayers." -- Make yourself useful and go shovel some cow dung.
Houston -- oh wait, I get it. -- it was the words "alternative medicine" which ruffled your feathers, right? Too liberal for you, right? Too vodoo like, right? oooh, scary isn't it Houston? Better go pray for me...
This isn't the time for arguing, part of our 49er family is in pain. The bible says faith without works is dead. I'm just offering Terry options. I have prayed for our brothers family, but I want to help anyway I can. Western medicine has a war approach to healing. It attacks the illness, and often times the body is collateral damage. Holistic medicine strengthens the body so it can fight disease on its own. We have had our differences, but they seem petty in the face of life and death.
Did Matt send you the links yet?
I'll put you in the freaking whacko category with the other guy. For the record, I am 100% in favor of seeking out the best medical advice possible and then questioning the advice your given at every opportunity. In this case, medical advice was not requested. Even if it were, a dietary herbal healer and an energy healer can hardly be called medical advice. These types of "healers" don't help people - they kill people. One of the persons in particular is a known fraud in the medical community and referring anyone to him is dangerous. He might be able to put you on a good diet and make you feel good about yourself but he has never cured any disease. Just ask Lisa Lopez or any other families of the people who have died while in his care. Posting a link to these quacks was WAY out of line.
Let's agree to disagree and get off this subject. I believe holistic medicine has it's place in supplementing medical care but can not be offered as a cure for life threatening medical situations. You believe differently. Enough said.
Houston ~ if you have the freedom to post your beliefs on this blog than anybody else has that same right, agreed?
Lisa Lopez died in a car accident, and Magic Johnson is one of his clients
something stinks ... oh, wait, it's cow dung.
highpriest333 - no more than five words in a sentence when conversing with that Hillbilly. He gets confused. No big words either. The only big word he knows is: Copenhagen chewing tobacco.
The herbalist in question also won a NY Supreme court case to prove his claims. I'm not saying leave your regular doctors, but I am saying be informed of additional ways to help your health. God made a cure for every ailment. Most medicines are based on plants. For example aspirin is a synthetic form of white willow. How can a man of "faith" have such little respect for the cures placed on earth by God. From 1999 to 2005 I was a counselor for terminally ill patients. I helped patients deal with cancer, aids, ms, and various other diseases. I saw what western medicine did to them. Many of the treatments are very high in toxins. The medicines sometimes increase pain, remove appetites, and create sleeping disorders. I've spent thousands of hours helping families through the process of healing, and sometimes dying. The successful cases usually added alternative medicine to their regiments. Terry doesn't have to go with my suggestions, but I recommend he research's as many alternatives as possible.
you lost him, highpriest333. To many words for his Hillbilly brain to comprehend. He's probably out praying for his grass to grow so he can feed his cows to stuff his fat belly with meat and grow obese and then spend his money on big medicine that cost big money sold by evil drug companies
Now I can respect that your actions followed your beliefs. I happen to disagree with posting information for someone whom I believe to be a total fraud but at least you have used logic to form your beliefs. I only have personal experience in this area and not professional experience as you do. My problem with these charlatans is that many of them feed off the desperation of a family or person in crisis and have absolutely nothing to offer.

...And drug companies don't? Right. Its right-wing conservatives like you that help dumb sh*** like Sarah Palin get attention.
Lets stop fighting over ideology, we all just want the best for Terry and his family. We can all agree on prayers.
To Matt Maiocco, Hi Matt, FO999's comments hee illustrates what is WRONG with blogs. His diatribe has NOTING to do with sports. It is hateful. This is why I stopped blogging in general and in specific I'll slow down on this blog
Matt YOU have talent. This blog is 90% excellent good hard case 49ers fans.. BUT it takes ONE lonely mouth breather typing one handed in his moms basement to give blogs their bad reputtion.. FO999 shame on your name calling.
