Deion Sanders said today on the NFL Network that agent Eugene Parker was his source when he said on Sept. 4 that there were two teams "desiring" a trade for Michael Crabtree. And, furthermore, he said the 49ers were Parker's source.

On Sept. 4 when asked about what Sanders said, 49ers team spokesman Bob Lange said, "Those conversations never took place."

This morning, Sanders said he then used "common sense" to determine that if there were two teams willing to trade for Crabtree that those teams were also willing to pay him the kind of money he wanted. Sanders said he's "very confused" about the 49ers' decision to file tampering charges against the New York Jets.

Sanders said the NFL has not contacted him as part of the tampering investigation. And if the league asked him to cooperate, he said he would just tell the truth.

Watch the entire interview here. The Crabtree segment begins around the 4:30 mark.

Who wants to put down money that Deion's just cover his own rear end?

This makes no sense to me.

If you are in negotiations with a guy, why would you tell his agent that there are other teams who are interested?

If you meet woman in a bar, you don't tell her that your friends might be better catches, right?

you wud if she be ugly yo

Peon Deon and his ego strike again.

Deion Muddies the Waters

Exactly, it does not make sense. If the glove doesnt fit.... it just does not make sense.

Not only that but why would the 49ers tell him they are also willing to pay crabs more money than we are willing to give him.

Matt, In referrence to your last article....

My frustration was not directed to your stats. It was referred to the other poster who had said take those two runs out and we suck overall as an offense.

I agree that you can take the 2 runs out to analyze the rest of our running game to see how potent it is. However to give a fair analysis wouldn't it also be important to remove the "up the gut, in the last minutes, with the lead, just to run out the clock" runs? Those, AT LEAST, 12 plus runs at the ends of games just to run out the clock have to be bringing our rush #'s down just as much as the big runs brought them up. I don't think those runs should count against the runners as much as they should against the play callers who did not mix up the types of runs on those calls.

What others, NOT you Matt, have eluded to saying is our offense or team as a whole sucks or is overrated so only because of those two big runs are we 3-1. It is sickening that they ignore those plays as if they were not real, just because they were so unusual doesn't make them any less valid.

Those 2 runs are not the norm, however fun to watch.

The running game, other than those 2 long runs, is only averaging 2.54 yds/carry, that's on 107 out of 109 attempts. Do the math : that's 98+% of the time you run the ball you're only getting the equivilent of 2 1/2yds/rush. You can't get away with that for long unless maybe you've got a great passing game. Uh, we don't have one right now. That means you're putting most of the pressure on the D and special teams. Don't expect the D to carry the team the whole season because they'll get worn down, which could lead to injury problems above and beyond the norm too.

Convert one third down against Minn & there's no time for the miracle.
Can't run because lack of speed - D is pinching the middle. They saw how successful Ariz was & copied.
Can cope with short first down passes (West Coast) or by getting speed guys in game, like Sheets.
Don't think our O line is as bad as advertised, just we're too limited or predictable.

Bwaahahahahahahahaha!!!

But that Sanders guy though, straight up snake in the grass. I don't trust a single word of what he said above.

At 3-1 with our one loss in the last :02 seconds one has to be an idiot to say we suck, It is factually wrong. The genesis of the removing two long runs probably refers to the football insiders statistical analysis of O Lines which weighs the average. Taking that into account they rank Niners O Line 32th in the run and 30th in pass protection

Our defense is playing superb, our overall offense is playing OK but our O Line is playing pooly. If we can get that O Line going we could really good.

Today will be a big test for them.

Agree completely with ancientniner.Get Sheets into the game.

Very green in pass offense - should improve as season progresses. Maybe today they can take another step and spread the ball around. Like to see more from the other TE, who is a very good receiver.

so, either Deon is lieing about who said what to who, crabtree's agent lied to Deon about what the 9ers told him, or the 9ers lied to the media about what they told the agent. And as was stated above, why would the 9ers tell an agent that there are 2 other interested teams? Makes no sense. The agent is a 17 year long friend of Deons, so I don't think he would lie to him. Looks like Deon is covering for himself and his buddy after finding out that maybe he and his buddy were involved with illegal tampering of Crabtree. And now this kid from Oklahoma?Oklahoma State. Deon blames it on a scared kid. My guess is there is a little more to it. It's just to bad the arrival of Crabtree to the 9ers had to be so muddied. It's going to take a while to warm up to him. Maybe as long as 1 touchdown?

What a douche bag. Hopefully Deion's mouth will get him fired from NFL Network.

RK Way to weave a mention of Muddy Waters into this.. I agree by the way Deion stuck his nose into Dez Bryants business as well... I suspect this is the way they did it at Florida State when Prime ruled Tallahassee..

Deion is obviously lying about the Crabtree issue. (or more likely,Parker lied to Deion).
There is no way in the world that McGloughan or Paraag would EVER tell Parker that there were other teams interested in trading for Crabtree,NEVER !!!
First of all the Niners say NO teams ever contacted them about Crabtree after the draft. Secondly ,IF teams DID call the Niners to inquire(during the trading period) ,then the Niners would never tell Parker about those calls in a millio years. That would hurt their negotiation stance with Parker ,to let himknow there were teams that would compete for Crabs services and pay him more.
So there is NO chance, not one in a Billion, that the Niners told Parker about other teams being interested in Crabs.
SO,if Parker knew about any teams,it was because THEY contacted Parker and told him themselves. THAT IS CALLED TAMPERING !!!
And it looks like one of those teams was stupid and left a trail and got caught (Jets) and one was smarter and more experienced at being crooked(the Cowpies).
