Re: New OC
I think a guy like Scott Linehan is the ideal choice. A track record of success at the position, and a great chance for continuity. Honestly, is anyone giving this guy another shot at being a head coach within the next few years? I seriously doubt it. He's this year's Cam Cameron.
I also like Jeremy Bates in Denver, but I heard they recently locked him up with a longer term deal.

I also think Linehan would be a great choice. I also like the fact that Rathman could also serve well in a back-up roll. I love this new tuff, punch you in the mouth attitude. As a fan I finally want my niners back to that sort of toughness!
What do you think of the possibility of bringing in another veteran QB..there is a guy in philly that i wouldn't mind throwing some passes for us!

I'm officially on record as saying I'd like Coach Singletary to hire Philadelphia Eagles QB Coach Pat Shurmur. He seems to be the perfect fit for our 49ers!

What do you think?

Re: New OC
If we go with experience, I would like S. Linehan. If we're looking for fresh talent, then I would like to see Bill Musgrave (Falcons QB coach) get atleast an interview. I think Linehan is the best choice though. The league has shown coaching stars rise quickly, and if Musgrave were to come in and lights up the offense he will be a hot head-coaching candidate in 2010. On the other hand, Linehan will likely never get another shot at being a head coach.
