Postby BiteClub on Fri Feb 20, 2009 11:21 AM

BiteClub's looking for all the local prix-fixe/locals night/special deal dinners happening on a regular basis. Give me a shout out if you have a favorite or are a restauranteur doing one!

Corks (and odd combo of the chef from Stella's Thursday -Sunday and on Wednesday the Pasta King )

When Hallihan (sp) is cooking there is a prix fix menu around $30 for soup.salad, entree, dessert
and when the Past King is cooking Wednesday a $12 buffet.

The Rio Nido Roadhouse has a regular set of specials -- I recommend Thurs fried chicken nigh.
Applewood has a T-Thrs prix fix

Syrah does a 4 or 7 course meal paired with wines if you so desire. The quality of the food is excellant. We had the four courses paired with wines and I cannot wait to go back!

Almost a week late, but the pronunciation of prix fixe is "pree feex", not "fix". That's easy to say, n'est pas?

Couple to add...

Dry Creek Kitchen is continuing their Sonoma Neigbbor Prix Fixe menu- $34 and free corkage for SoCo wines -or- add a wine pairing for $15. Haven't tried this one yet.

Rocker Oysterfellers: Sunday "Supper" - three courses for $20. Went a couple weeks ago- green salad, chicken and dumplings, Sharffenberger truffles. AWESOME!

Tried the Bistro 29 prix fixe a couple weeks ago and it was very good- coq au vin, soupe de tomate (amuse bouche), salad with a leek tart and then choice of three dessert crepes.

Add'l Money-Saving idea: If you haven't already, get a Savings Card (used to be Sonoma Express.) 2-for-1 at many local restaurants (including several that have been reviewed here) AND this year they give you TWO cards with your $20 book. We get one every year and save a bunch of $$$. Plus, it's a fun little ritual- flipping through the book to see what restaurant we want to try.
