The past two seasons the Warriors were the most exciting pro team in the Bay Area. There was a feeling of something unique happening at Oracle Arena. Fans got behind the team. And now this.
The Warriors are boring bordering on unwatchable. The Warriors brass may be deluding themselves on this topic but you know it's true. The Warriors make you want to fall asleep.
There are reasons:
No Baron Davis
No Monta Ellis
The mere presence of Corey Maggette
No power forward
No teamwork.
This no teamwork thing is a very big deal. Did you happen to watch the Warriors vs. Cleveland on Friday night? On numerous occasions one of the Warriors dribbled the ball down the length of the court and then shot the ball -- often a 3-point shot. Often he missed. On those occasions the Warriors never threw a single pass. This is bad basketball. Call it disgusting.
Maggette, of course, is the worst offender. He gets the ball, he shoots. It's as if he's playing his own one-on-one game in a team game. He is a terrible acquistion and he makes the heart long for Baron Davis, whom the Warriors ran off.
I can't believe the Warriors charge money to watch this bad team. Owner Chris Cohan should be ashamed.
you should be ashamed of yourself with you hate on everything attitude. you get beat up as a kid or what? how you still have your job is beyond me. the PD should have you write on high school sports so we dont have to be subject to your constant hatred of our beloved teams. your writing makes me sick. i dont know one person who appreciates your reporting. and i know many who despises your work. you're an old bitter man
Allthough I think your the worst columnist in the bay besides Kawakami and cant beleive you get paid for writing a blog any other person could full of about three sentences and your poor opinion I have to agree with you on this one.The Warriors are hard to watch and Ellis isnt goint to fix the problem.Lowell I would like to add you to the list of least knowledgable, jump to conclusions and least talented writers and media members along side with Ralph the Rusty Razor Barbeiri and Tim Kawakami.Anything they say is garbage and Id like to include you with them, congradulations.Hey look theres been more info and sentences in my post than most of your columns.Keep up the bad work.
Don't forget Stephen "the turnover machine" Jackson. He by far is the worst business decision by the team.
Jackson is a Leader? What kind of a leader makes comments like that after a game?
If SJax was on any other team......he's on the bench!
hurrah to ed!
tellin it like it is
As I watched the ESPN highlights of the Warriors-Cleveland game (ALL CAVS highlights by the way) I suddenly thought to myself "Oh my gosh, the warriors...are...irrelevant once again". Flash back to the days of Tony Farmer, Bimbo Coles et al.
Unwatchable works for me. I quit watching. After many years of indifference I kind of enjoyed the Warriors that last few years. I was even at the Giants game (club seats) and ended up watching them beat Dallas instead of watching the boring Giants. Now I feel like I'm in sports Hades. Giants, 49ers, Warriors....thank goodness for the Science Channel.
wait and see when monte comes back into the picture, the warriors will be back in the playoffs again this year!
Once he's back they will be just as exciting as they were in the past two seasons.
I appreciate your reporting. People like Ed and "The Grinch" are much more negative than you. I laugh when I read these comments. Do these people hate their lives or what? Just because their beloved teams are not doing so hot right now, and some people have the nerve to point out why. Sheesh!
Anywho, I definatly agree with you, Lowell, on the Warriors. They are stuck in the doldrums and have no players to work with- and the fairly descent player comboinations are sworn off by Nellie. Something needs to happen to spark this team. Nellie needs to change his approach or the Warriors need to change their coach. They are not getting the most out of this pretty limited bunch.
here here lowell...
I won't buy another ticket until something drastic changes.
