This you should know. I asked Larry Riley Role if Curry will be the W's point guard of the future. Riley said not necessarily. He made it clear Curry is a backup and may not play much until Dec. or January.
Which means Curry is not an impact pick and not a team changer.
"I have to be willing to work and make mistakes and learn how to be productive on the floor," he said of his backup role. "A lot of things I have to learn."
Of course, he may still be traded to Phoenix along with Biedrins, Belinelli and Wright for Amare Stoudemire. The Suns seem to like Curry and soon they will need a point. The Warriors really need Stoudemire, who would make them good as opposed to what they are now. If the Warriors end up making Curry part of that trade, good.
Asked if he expects to get traded, Curry said, "I just spoke with Larry Riley and he didn't mention it. So I'm going to sleep as a Warrior." The trade can't get finalized until July 8, so he's sleep as a Warrior for more than a week. After that, who knows?.

Lowell and Iggy help me here.
Why is there always this talk in terms of "things to learn" in the Nelson offense? I am not a basketball genius but I understand basketball. I imagine there are reads the average fan doesn't get. I imagine I'm missing out on many aspects of the game. I know in the NFL the defense can be out of position and make the guy closest to the ball looked like he got burned. But that might not be even close to reality.
But today in the NBA is seems pretty free flowing and the Warriors shoot at will. I don't see a lot of pretty plays (I'll watch womens NCAA basketball for that). The Warriors don't play defense half the time either.
So please..if your a good player why shouldn't you be on the floor? What is there to learn? So what if your a rookie.
This seems like smoke and mirrors to me.
Help.
Stoudemire is already listed as a Warrior on wikipedia.
Somebody REALLY wants this trade to materialize...
*ALOHA*
Nelson knows how to make rookies... rookies of the year... Curry is a possible in the run & gun style... don't let him go... plus, you'd be trading a young, already a double double machine, post player for a micro fractured, rumored to be an offense only, albeit an all star... so then, does amare make up for both of them? Close call, but I say no.
LOUSY PLAN -- Stoudemire may be an asset for the Warriors, but not with the package discussed here. Biedrins is a known positive contributor and Bellineli has improved nicely. If the Warriors want to make a trade I trust they will package Curry with a bunch of their second-rate players.
I like the selection of Curry. Now the biggest trick is to see if the Warriors can pull this squad together and actually become a respectable team.
I have my doubts that the Warriors will figure things out, and at the same time I hope they make more trades that will hopefully focus on the right mix of players.
Obtaining Stoudemire would be a big mistake, but I am willing to give them some credit for trying to make a move.
