I ask the question: How nuts are the Raiders?
Before answering I need to explain something. On Monday I went to Tom Cable's presser, drove home and wrote my column firing the crummy coach. Around 4 in the afternoon the Raiders sent out two press releases via email, one concerning Cable's alleged hitting of women and another about ESPN. My column did not reflect those releases because I never got them. I never get any press releases from the Raiders because I have been stricken from their email list.
I take this as a mark of great achievement on my part. The Raiders apparently treat me as a non-human, non-journalist because I have gotten under their skin. When a team is that bad, when ownership is that paranoid a journalist should get under their skin. To my knowledge only 2 other columnists share this honor with me -- Monte Poole and Tim Kawakami. If I'm leaving anyone out I apologize.
So anyway I never got the emails until Monday evening when my colleague Phil Barber sent them to me. Now I want to comment on press release No. 2, regarding ESPN.
Here it is: ESPN's role in this matter must be carefully examined. ESPN routinely disseminates falsehoods about the Raiders. During the last year, ESPN (working with someone who was in this organization) engaged in a calculated effort to distort the truth about the Raiders, utilizinng lies and innuendo.
OK, that's the statement I didn't get. Here's what I have to say. Holy, cow! Is that nuts or what? Did ESPN disseminate falsehoods in Cable's case or engage in innuendo? It presented two women who spoke on camera about Cable hitting them. That's not innuendo. That's accusation.
These women may be lying, but it's not wrong for ESPN to interview them. And we must point out that Cable, who may be innocent of all charges, now has 4 people who claimed he hurt them physically.
The Raiders say they will investigate Cable. Good. But for them to blame ESPN for Cable's problems is off the chart whacko even for them.

Lowell, the Raiders did not blame ESPN for Cable's problem. They do not find ESPN credible. And you can't deny Mort ran a story that he later had to retract and apologized for. Maybe those crazy Raiders have more insight into these new accusations than we know?
It is apparent for some reason the local media does not like Cable and feel he is not intelligent enough to be an effective head coach. That may or may not be the case, but let the man have his dignity and fail or succeed on his own. I remember when John Madden was the head coach of the Raiders, and there were some writers who questioned his smarts too.
The notion that we create our own reality has taken hold among some of our "new age" consciousness shills. Mr. Davis's history as a power person in the NFL included using our legal system as a hammer to get his way. He used a hammer to drive a screw into Oakland, and the Raider Fans, twice. Perhaps he can be sued for the inappropriate use of hand tools?
The chance of Cable being an abusive individual is
close to certain. It is delusional to think/assume the
women that came foward are fabricating thses stories
now. he is not nice when angry, in a way that present
society frowns upon.
ESPN report negatively about the Raiders because that
is the vast majority of their recent history.
(putting with Fred Edlestein---sorry about spelling, that showed poor judgement by espn).
I feel sorry for Raider fans.
Take a step back and look at what you're doing. You've accused Al Davis on numerous occasions of being petty. Well, how petty is it that Tom Cable's personal life has become your new fascination? Here we are, in the middle of a tremendous World Series where records are being broken, and this is what you're dedicating your time and talent to?
"I never get any press releases from the Raiders because I have been stricken from their email list."
"I take this as a mark of great achievement on my part. The Raiders apparently treat me as a non-human, non-journalist because I have gotten under their skin."
I've sensed that you get a kick out of confrontation, maybe as much as Al does. A "non-human"? That's a bit absurd. They just aren't going to load your gun for you. Without even realizing it, you've stooped to Davis' level, and become a tabloid journalist. Happy Holidays.
Do you know Cable or the women he's dated? No? Oh, so the media has educated you on Tom Cable and his past? As Aunt Ester often told Fred Sanford,"Fred, you are a fish eyed fool!" Gary, let me introduce you to Aunt Ester. You are not a fish eyed fool, but you are a sheep!
Please ,Captain Black . Back off. Reality escapes you. Seek help for your mental beauty. Beauty will never survive in this medium. This medium only enhances money. Occasionally, bored older brains mess with it. I like your style .
Wilbur you are too goofy for a response. Go smoke a joint and prentend life is a bowl of cherries
CaptainBlack,
Tell me the truth, do you sit in your room behind the keyboard and dream of being tea-bagged by Cables??
Anybody that disagrees with you is high on something, and yet you are the most delusional person on this blog.
I remember last time you wrote "Tom has apologized for hitting those women, lets just move on OK?", which of course is not OK.
You are either A) cooked on crack, B) madly in love with Tom Cables and would love to have his baby or C) a Raiders employee who is involved with gorilla marketing. Of course its possible are three are true. Just think about it, that organization appears to be run by bunch of dumb monkeys that are F'd up out of their minds on crack. And who is to say the dumb monkeys wouldn't want to be tea-bagged by Tom?
BTW-save your dumb-azz argument that monkeys and gorillas aren't the same.
You and the Raiders deserve each other !!!
Good luck with your love life with Tom, hope you can take a punch if you are late with his dinner or miss a "DROP" .
How many aliases do you use? Get a life and control your obsession with my postings.
I only use this one, dont flatter yourself.
You are just a easy target, being a dumb wacko and all.
A wacko? You are so judgemental for a fella who preaches tolerance. I say you are a wacko, and I'm sure you've been told before. Tolerance, girly man
Hey, CaptainBlack and fishlips, please refrain from the name calling. I'm trying to maintain a level of civil discourse on this blog. I value both of you so much and eagerly read your comments. Please elevate the dialogue. Lowell
Sorry Lowell. I didn't mean to diminish your blog
