Call this a case of poetic justice. Stephen Jackson got his money and then made himself into a pest on the W's. He wanted to play for a contender. He wanted out. He wanted everything on his terms.
Well, this morning the W's traded him to Charlotte, a bad team with a 3-6 record which just happens to be the W's record. So Jackson didn't so much get traded as he got banished from one purgatory to another. There's a certain poetic justice in that -- not to mention just plain justice of the regular kind. All may be as it seems on the outside, but I suspect there was a little more going on here. Quite possibly, the Warriors management realized in the off-season what a mistake it was to sign Jackson to a long term contract. The only way to get out of it, would be to intentionally infuriate Jackson and have him be the bad guy when he demand to be traded. This takes all criticism off of Rowell and puts it on Jackson. Now fans are relieved that "stackjack" was traded, and Rowell is relieved that he won't have to listen to 4 more years of criticism..... hmmm, maybe too conniving for Cohan....well not really....
If W's management was capable of that kind of forethought they wouldn't have given that guy such a stupid extension to begin with...
Actually, according to Ric Bucher, this trade with Charlotte was made with Jackson's prior approval. That's how much he can't stand the Warriors.
What's going to be funny is how Larry Brown reacts to Jackson's brain dead play. The days of no accountability for oncourt stupidity are over.
Wouldn't what he was traded for be appropriate in this article? I really only read you and Maiocco for my news.
Man, you really got it in for this guy. What did he ever do to you??? The Warriors??? One of the worst franchises in pro sports. Sheesh...
Jackson and Acie Law got traded to Charlotte for Vladimir Radmanovic and Raja Bell. Lowell
This is not about Jackson been a disgruntal player. This is about Nelson doing any thing he pleases. It's not going to stop here. He is going to destroy and trade Monta Ellis, Randolph, Curry. I wish that drunken bastard will quit, before he destroys everything that is good about the Warriors
The Warriors are the cholostomy bag of pro sports. Way to go Cohn, sell NOW please!
Nelson will get rid of Monte Ellis next, and indeed trade him for expiring contract, crappy player(s).It's pretty obvious Ellis does not want to play for a dictator like Nelson, and a complete idiot like Rowell. We will see all the ex-Warriors in the playoffs for other teams, like we do every year. I cannot believe the fans are still going to watch this team play.
