Did you see this quote from Don Nelson? The NY media asked why he wasn't starting Stephen Curry and he replied, "I took him out of the starting lineup because he doesn't have enough tattoos. How can a guy start in the NBA with no tattoos?"

That quote is simply wonderful and I've been laughing about it all morning. Thanks, Nellie.

Lowell and Nellie: Thanks for the laugh.

Im glad Stanford is initiating a beat down right now on USC. Plus, that stupid band song that USC is playing isn't be heard!

If they are henna, I think it is great body art. If they are real, I feel sorry for them. Real ones do not age well. Unless you die young and get skinned, they are hard to preserve.

I don't think much of the guys tatoo's. i pity the ladies thirty years down the road.

Why is that such a great quote anyway? It's typical Nellie b.s. Doesn't it kind of put Curry on the spot with his teammates like Jackson and Ellis, who come from different socio-economic/family backgrounds from Curry? Isnt' it really saying that Curry is a nice clean cut kid with no tattoos, a babe in the NBA woods, not ready to play yet, not like these tatted-up, street-wise hoodlum punks like Jackson and Ellis? He's stroking Curry now, setting him up, using him to needle Jackson and Ellis, but he'll pull his rookie's pants down and lock him out in the street the instant he needs a scapegoat or an excuse. That's the Nelson way, it's what he is. A user, a boozer and a loser, with apologies to Jeri Blank.

Who could hate Nellie after that quip? God almighty, there is a nearly perfect link between tattoos and aliteracy and illiteracy. Let's see where do we notice the most tattoos? First among felons behind bars, then gang members, then the NBA. Such a rotten image we must root for the teams with the fewest tattoos. Bravo Coach Nelson.
